East Coast Earthquake..

I hope these earthquakes aren't foreshadows for whenever the "big one" hits LA.

Apparently, NY is due for a big earthquake from a few things I have read across the interwebs.

Is there like some kind of buffer that Manhattan has? I didn't feel a thing here.

I'm not exactly sure how rare it is for the east coast but I was reading reports that people at the Pentagon thought it was an attack.

I felt it in my office in the city. I only noticed it because the storage cabinet nearby started to mildly shake and my ID was swaying from side-to-side. It was so fast that you really had to pay attention to notice it.

Felt it here (Albany, NY), I was out on my back deck and thought my chair was breaking at first, then realized it was an earthquake. I was sort of rolling in my chair and the wood on the deck was creaking, it was pretty neat. The in-ground pole mounted bird feeders were swaying, so were the dead trees in the woods.
My sister lives in Fairfax VA and my nephew works in DC...they said they were really rocking!
Also have a sister in NC (Cary area), she felt it as well.

I felt it in Schenectady also. Was sitting at a table with a laptop in 100 pieces in front of me and the floor started to move under me. Everyone in the office stepped out of their cubes, we all looked at each other, said "WTF is that?" and headed for the door. When we got outside (all of a 20' walk) we could see the cars in the lot shaking.

I play COD with a guy from the NC/VA area, he was on last night, I thanked him for rocking our world yesterday. He never felt it himself though.

Apparently the top of the Washington Monument had cracks in the mortar, some spires of the Washington Cathedral fell and the Smithsonian had some cracks, as I understand the CNN report.

I felt it in my 3rd floor office...VERY mild...seems most people I talked to who didn't feel it were either outside or driving while most who felt it were in a structure of some kind.

Exceptions of course, but...
