go to settings/general UI/UI Mode and make sure phone mode is selected. I don't think it would change on it's own but it's worth checking. If it's in phone mode maybe switch it to tablet mode and then back to phone mode and reboot. If that doesn't work then dirty flash the rom. If a dirty flash doesn't fix it then backup your apps and do a full wipe and reflash.

Since nitro credited PA as well. I'm guessing he's using their methods to change DPI like pac does.


You could:
adb shell
cd /system/etc/paranoid
cat properties.conf

and see if you have things like
com.android.systemui.statusbar.dpi=100

set to 0. I'm running pac in phablet mode, and that's the setting I have for that and %hybrid_mode=1.

It's a stab in the dark, but that could be it.

Not really sure what adb shell is or how to use it... I'll have to google it
 
More growing pains...

... I intended to dirty flash the ROM to fix the disappearing notification bar but I guess I got confused in the process... I did a restore instead!

Oh well... the problem is fixed for now but I don't know if I'll ever get a chance to investigate the root of it (pun intended)

Certain apps will hide the notification bar, did you install something new that maybe bugged it out? What launcher are you using?

Didn't install anything. Nova. One minute I looked at my phone and all was well... I set it down and the next time I picked it up, the bar was gone. I checked all the system and launcher settings... couldn't find the problem. Now that I've restored a nandroid from yesterday, all is well. If it happens again, maybe I'll be able to pin down the cause.
 
I've been running this since the newest update came out and it ran flawless for the first 4 days but yesterday I started getting reboots. I got 2 or 3 yesterday and one today so far. I was hoping for some feedback from others whether this is happening to them or not.

I had a few, didn't really think anything of it cause it was when updating/restoring apps or when I plugged/unplugged it, which has happened on various ROMs so I guess I just dismissed it as "Spectrum weirdness" :p

I'm back on AOKP right now, wanted to check out the new ribbon/app drawer features.

I'm going to try something else as well. I'm starting to get some lag as well.
 
I have been running this ROM since it got released. Today I had to do a complete wipe because it kept saying system process not working????... It might have been because I let my phone die last night. That's the only issue so far. This has to be the best ROM for the spectrum... I really like azollers icy fusion. A d the cham. OS would be nice if it was problem free lol

Did start getting some lag, though
 
Darn... Lost my notification bar again suddenly. Went to sleep, all waz well. Woke up, gone!

Funny thing though... This time it disappeared almost exactly as long after my nandroid restore as it did the first time after the original flash.

Restored again. Gonna time it.

try out the newest nightly of AOKP 4.2 It's running very smooth for me and has some nice features.
 
I noticed this thread has lost its frenzy in the past couple of days. Is anyone still using it for their DD? I currently am. Feeling pretty good about it so far
 
I am rocking it right now. I am very satisfied with it. I am tempted to try AOKP again for the ribbons. Battery life seems to be better on this ROM.
 
I gave it a try and it seemed to be so similar to aokp... Anyone know a reason to switch from aokp?
 
Yea I haven't tried aokp in a while... I flashed this one and haven't changed it has been running great, so I figure if its this smooth a d good battery then I'll stick with it
 
So since putting this ROM on I have started to notice that after a couple days the phone starts freezing... It might just be because I leave it on all the time and never clean the cache and what not... Any body else??
Also every since I rooted my phone back in Feb. When I turn my phone off and plug it in to charge it won't turn back on until I take the charger off and pull the battery?? The screen will also have a white ring in the center when powering up it goes away after a couple seconds any suggestions on that would be appreciated.. Note-- I bought this phone for 30 bucks on craigslist so there is no telling g what all has been done to it

I'm having the exact same problems since I flashed this ROM. Since you've had the battery pull problem since before Elemental X, it seems that it might be hardware based. BTW, my current Spectrum is a manufacturer refurbished, so it was probably just another phone someone sent back to VZ because it wasn't working.

This morning was the first morning since flashing this ROM that I didn't have to pull the battery. It woke up fine. But I am still getting lag and delay
