I am a first time poster here. Just wanted to say Thank You to NKT and everyone else that is keeping us updated of the coming 2.1 update. You guys ( and ladies ) are great.
did the tester actually say there was no sense ui? i dont remember specifically
although I dont believe the ota story, why would even a beta version that would work with an htc device not incude sense? wouldnt that be critical to testing?

I noticed that also, but is this how 2.1 menus look on other devices?Because I got so bored guessing the date of this baby's birth I thought I would throw out a little mystery.
I was looking at my Setting/About Phone Screen to see why these photos (and the one supplied by NKT) looked so different from my 1.5 screen. What's missing is the top 4 options, System Updates, Status, Legal Information and Model Number. hmmmm...ok
So my question to NKT is: have these been moved down or off this screen? The Engagement article also mentioned that Sense was left out of the OTA, can NKT confirm that is the case on his test phone?
BTW doesn't the 2nd photo look like the same background material as the photo from NKT but Sans the magic marker...
Enquiring [Sic] minds want to know.

DROID Eris, Spring Hero, and GSM Hero are ALL getting Android 2.1 - should be in early Q2. Announcement came from @htc
This is the first reputable word I've seen that has pushed the OTA later than 31 Mar. I do think HTCSource is reputable.

i think this would piss off a lot of Eris and Hero users after 2 months of "Q1 Release of 2.1" news.
Yes, the Settings menu changed with 2.1.
Why would they launch the Eris with Sense, only to take it away. The 2.1 upgrade WILL have Sense.
And that second picture isn't like mine. Look at the perspective of the phone. I can tell you unequivocally that is not the phone I have.

Looks nice. So far what do you think of it NKT? Can't wait til it gets released.

Does anyone know if 2.1 will fix the issue of voice dial from blue tooth instead of having to hold the phone, I asked a couple of days ago w/o reply, our state is going to pass legislation restricting holding a phone while driving? Thanks if replying.
I'll have to dig out my BT headset and try...

No, Bluetooth voice dial is missing on all Android phones.
not the same as android 2.1 on my vogue, but its a Mod version... it doesn't look like my Eris either.... menus change..

Just a thought, has anybody tried to do a hard reset on their phone and just see if possibly, by chance, that maybe it would load 2.1? Just a thought. Don't yell at me!!
