I can tell you anyone who adds esn doesn't do it for free (because they have to pay to add it too) and $20 is a reasonable price, though some places try to charge upwards of $65 or more.....

Hm for that i could catch a bus to the next town and get it flashed at their store lol.

Well when you don't have anywhere else to go that's your best choice.
By the way I tried this method but I could find the 2 files. I found a lot of other numbers except the 2 numbers you said to use.

Hi, is there a work around for getting the NAM 1 and NAM 2 information, as well as the profile information, for a phone that will not be read by CDMA Workshop? I have s Samsung Galaxy Prevail that I am attempting to use as a donor phone for an HTC Evo 4G. The Galaxy Prevail will open in CDMA Workshop after enabling USB Mode in ##8778# and DM Mode in ##7678#. After entering the SPC Code (MSL), it tells me "SPC Code correct. Phone unlocked," and allows it to read the NV Memory. However, when I looked into the NV Items files, they list 0x then some letters and say access denied. I found a workaround for this by using Terminal Emulator on the phone to extraxt the NV Items to a cdma.rfs file on the root of the SC Card. I then copied that file off the phone and opened it with MagicISO and got my 4 NV Item files. However, I cannot get CDMA Worskshop to read the NAM 1 and NAM 2 entries and I cannot get Service Programming in QPST to load the files for the profiles, etc. Is this phone locked down too tight to use as donor phone, or is there a workaround for all this? Please, if anyone knows anyway to make this work, please let me know. I really want to get my Evo 4G activated on Boost Mobile. I want it so badly I can taste it, lol.

I did this on my prevail:
Root the phone using ODIN (Prevail M820 fa19 Rooted CWM)
GOT SPC with the terminal emulator.
The drivers came with the ODIN folder and the prevail was recognized on a port in xp.
DM Mode in ##7678# (Phone restarts)
USB mode##8778#
GO to CDMA WS and find the port and connect. Go to security and type in your SPC and send. It unlocks. Get your Nam files 0 and 1 and save them. If for some reason in any of the nam files you get the error phone does not respond exit CDMA. Turn off your antivirus/spyware/firewall ( I did this on a standalone system no internet etc and no antivirus). I noticed that everytime CDMA tries to connect to the prevail it halts and you get the error. When you try CDMA again you will get the nam files and save them. If you save one and get the error exit again and redo for nam 2. Go straight to the nam 2 section and read >Save.

Open qpst and go to qpst configuration and let the system recognize your phone.
Then on service programming you should have the ESN, Build, MEID recognized on the top of the window. If the configuration does not work, use the option SURF7627-LINUX. GO to the M.IP and copy the profiles.
You have the .qcn, nam 1 and 2.

This is how I got everything. Hope it helps.

I recently purchased a HTC EVO 4G that was already flashed to Boost Mobile from someone on Craigslist. However, when I went to the Boost with the phone, I was told that I needed the ESN that was used when the phone was flashed. I was able to talk to the Flasher and he supplied me with an ESN, but I was told by Boost that the ESN was currently active on a Boost account.

I contacted the person from whom I had purchased the phone and he proved to me that his Boost account had been closed for some time. I contacted Flasher again and he stated that since the person from whom I had purchased the EVO had allowed his Boost account to become dormant for a little while, the ESN that had been associated with his EVO had most likely been re-used.

In talking to Flasher and doing some research I have learned (if I understand correctly) that when flashing is done, an actually Boost phone (a.k.a. donor phone) is generally used (often a Boost Incognito). And the ESN from that actual phone (donor phone) is transferred to the phone that is being flashed. In this situation, you physically have TWO phones, the donor phone and the phone that was flashed. However, you only use the flashed HTC EVO phone (the phone you want to use), because the two phones both have the SAME ESNs.

But you can use the donor phone if something happens to your flashed phone. Also, if something happens to the flashing in your flashed phone, you always have the ESN number in order to re-flash, because the ESN is right under the battery of the donor phone that you have in your possession.

But I discovered that with some flashers, they do not use an actual phone (a donor phone), and instead they just get an ESN number from somewhere. From speaking with Flasher of the phone I purchased, this is apparently what he did. To remedy the problem, Flasher said that I will have to have the EVO flashed again, and of course for $$ ($85).

Do I truly have to have the EVO re-flashed?

Since the EVO that I have has already been flashed, it seems to me that there should be an easier (and cheaper) solution, but I am knowledgeable about these things. Nevertheless, I would think I could just substitute the ESN that is currently associated with the EVO I have with a different (unused) ESN? If so, how do I do that? (I am willing to purchase a Boost Incognito phone in order to obtain a new ESN and to always keep the ESN in my possession.)

Thanks in advance for any help or solutions.

I would not suggest that. Those are pieces of the memory that should not be played with unless your completley sure.

use the file in this attachment its blank just drop it in.

Hate to tell you, there is no way around it. You have to have the donor, because it has the data that is needed to flash your Evo. The guy who sold it to you, is a scammer. You should turn him in, because he should have given you the donor with the flashed phone, or should have been upfront with you, that he never had the donor, and informed you that you would need to reflash it with a new donor.

Simply no way around it.

, so how do you activate the flashed phone? i have epic 4g touch ,so how do i get it activated once its flashed ,and please dont say OTA , i mean whats the process?

1st. get a donor and activate it. I went from the warp to an incognito.
2nd. incognito info is cloned to new phone.
3rd. enjoy phone.

I got an error message from sprint when making a phone call about an hour after i flashed the phone, just stay on the line, they wanted to verify the phone i had. I obviously told them the incognito and they re-activated the line and told me to make a call and stay on the call for atleast 30sec.

Hello I know I'm new here First Post so be gentle recently I flashed a evo 3d to boost sucessfly and it was not nearly as complicated as this regular evo would any member would be willing to helpo me find the esn locations and zero them out i would make a paypal donation whoever helps please pm me

i have my evo flashed to boost, will rooting it revert it back to sprint settings?

I've moved your post over to the All Things Root forum where you'll get the best info for a Boost flashed Evo. :)

More than likely your phone was rooted to flash it over to Boost. I'm not really experienced with the Boost flash methods, so I could be wrong. :o

If you pull the battery out, wait a second and then put it back in. Then hold the volumen down then press and hold the power button simultaneously until a white screen with Andy riding a skateboard appears. Post back with exactly what you see on this screen, and we'll try to help you out. :)

once its set up on boost you can root it, change roms, or modify android to your hearts content it will not affect the network info

for profile 1 the aaa keys is 12 digits long correct? Ive tried the same things on this practice evo 4g i have laying around. I have cdma workshop 3.8.5 so changing the meid is no sweat for me!

You can not use the motorola i1 it is a iden phone not cdma.

I dont have the 3d but if your only getting 1x speeds, and using the incognito I would say your not using the correct HA and AAA keys for both profile 0 and profile1 as found using QXDM

If you cant change the esn then you will NOT get talk text or pic message.

You NEED to downgrade your baseband for the guide to work and if you have the new hboot that does not let you get s-off your going to have problems. There is a method I do not know it as I have never needed it.
when you get it though I could help you with changing the esn.

I tried downgrading and it wouldnt let me. I even talked to a few people and they said it wouldnt work. My baseband is 2.15.00.12.19 which according to the guide is the right band. I'm new to all of this. I know my esn &meid but I don't really understand the directions.
