Evo or Droid X

I agree the Evo is by far the best phone i have ever used. Also i have to listen to her. She is in the same state as me and can hunt me down. Ahhh!!! ok i'm weird and i enjoy feedback from anyone and everyone except Tom Cruise.

lol haha i think some of the fanboy evo owners want to track me down and burn me at the stake ahaha

Hey - that's really interesting. And the EVO and Sprint is a great combo.

What does that have to do with not planning appropriately to meet demand?

lolzzz oh dear...

Ummm to interject

I don't really blamae HTC nor Motorola or even Sprint or Verizon for selling out their launch days

If the phone is hot and gamechanging then i expect the phone to sell out....

The problem is when the company takes forever to refresh the stock so they can sell more

I think HTC is slow with that then again the droid x hasn't been out for a week so they may be slow with the refresh but i don't think it is anyone's fault they are getting sold out

This is because you're unclear with how just in time (JIT) inventory works and how corporate planning works.

Sprint execs gave themselves a bonus increase from 10% to 20% - that's a bonus double - just for selling out - it proved that 4G was a winner, in MBA terms.

Had they simply had sufficient stock on hand in the first place they wouldn't have been able to pocket that money.

In other words - sell out of 300k units - big paycheck for the selling out. Meet supply with with 600k units - no extra bonus for predicting 4G success.

The name of the use case for this in business circles is formally referred to as "Hoping for Behavior A While Rewarding Behavior B."

You are certainly within your rights as a fangirl to wax ecstatic over how this is no one's fault but that simply is not a reflection of how the world works.

And selling out on opening day is not evidence of game changing - selling more units and putting them into customer's hands quickly - that is game changing.

Now we'll never, never, ever know how many EVOs or Xs could have been sold to capitalize on the iP4 bad public relations screwups.

Never.

That's not game changing - that's the incompetency of American corporate thinking in action.

Evidently a vast number of consumers think that having their consumer rights trampled on as the result of executives lining their pockets with artificial shortages is just perfectly ok to the point of somehow being a good thing.

And by the way - where do you think that bonus money is coming from?

And - do you BELIEVE that such shenanigans are local only to Sprint?

I prefer other beverages to Kool Aide, but that's just me.

Hon i do not believe i said anything was gamechanging except the phones

Evo is the nations 1st 4g device and the first major device from a major manufacturer to have a webcam and one of few US devices to have a high end camera phone is gamechanging

compared to the motorola droid and nexus one before it

the X, while not game changing, is virtually comparable to the Evo sans ffc and the 4g(limited) which is gamechanging in the sense of verizon and their device line up

you are correct. I have no idea about JIT and i really could care less. I am a model and working my ass off in college to gain a degree in psychology and pursue FBI or CIA or DIA types of jobs with my degree...

Inventory of a product i am selling or marketing is something i could care less about

this has nothing to do with my fangirl persona or anything....Because i spoke in favor of BOTH Sprint & verizon and related parties

I like how my words were turned around and spewed into something i never said.

I never said selling out of a phone is game changing...the fact you quoted my phrase and still got it wrong is baffling

Also i never said it was local only to sprint...again i am trying to find the basis of the majority of your response because from what i read, it is more of an indirect attack(hence "certainly within your rights as a fangirl" remark) that changed what i said around and less of an actual meaningful post

I hate those corporate corporations!

Awwww pow. I just enjoy her convos. It's nice to have someone to chat about besides phones on here. I am a person of many interest and enjoy phones, racing and oh how cheesy playing xbox.

lol you are a sweetheart :)

I appreciate the kind words you(and others) have said in this thread and forum.

I do love having the convos about stuff on the forums that isn't all about phones(even though this is what the site is geared towards)

Overall, I love the atmosphere of androidforums, what the site is about and the 90% of useful posts and people here who are about helping each other out, getting to know fellow android users and educating people on the capabilities of their devices and android.

What i hate is the seriousness and sensitivity over a phone and how people feel the need to defend a phone...something you are likely to not even keep for a full contract term...Something that will be forgotten eventually.....

Good point because im 100% sure i wont have the same phone this time next year......This phone is great but technology never stops

I am obsessed with phones not just android

I got a motorola droid launch day

Went to an eris a month later

went back to the droid January

to go to a palm pre plus

back to the Eris for about 3 months and then finally to a droid incredible briefly before going to a Hero(while awaiting the Evo) and then the Evo

and then went back to a droid and now have a droid x

and remind you we are not even at a full one year mark of when i got my very first android device

And if the fascinate truly fascinates me, my ass will have that as well...

I could care less what people think of my phone, if people call it shitty or whatever because it's JUST A PHONE...i do not feel the need to defend a phone...

I am sorry but the behavior of adults and these phones...the very same adults that are supposed to be mature seriously sicken me.

oh and let's not forget my brief stint at the kin 2

Oh trust me i don't take phones serious at all why because i will probably have three different phones before the year ends. That's life eh.

Now back to the Conversation between you and Earlymon. I'm on the edge of my seat.

i don't think an adult that have a family or his own place and other responsible bills would bounce around from phone to phone.

okay...

I agree with you partially

i have had a palm pre plus, Eris, Kin 2, Droid, Hero, Evo, Incredible, and now an X

and that probably has cost me right about at a grand...i usually figure a way to get them at 2 year pricing

But we are not talking about an adult with a family or anybody else

we are talking about me and my choices
and trust me...there are plenty of people with wives/husbands and kids who
buy these devices outright for full price and most of these phones are like 500+

Like most people whenever i get a new device, i craigslist to recoup my money
