Accessories EVO Screen Protectors Thread

PhantomSkinzGuru, got one installation question for u. I checked youtube how to put phantomskinz on, some of them recommended put one/two drops of Johnson baby soap, or oil, is there any alternative for them?

PhantomSkinzGuru, i order full body kit online, so i will have 2 sets with one for matte, the other for regular one. i got 2 questions for you, hope you can help

1. Some installation youtube videos mentioned that it's better use a couple drop of Johnson's baby oil or soap when dipping the protector in the water, is there any alternative options?

2. It suggests to leave phone still and wait for protector dry there around 24 hours, does that mean i can not use the phone during it? or just mean, i can fire up the phone, but no touching?

I got the zagg and ghost armor screen protector. Oh man ghost armor is so much, let me put some emphasis on that, SOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH better, the feel is more smooth. I'll be returning the zagg
Glad to hear it. I have the Zagg on my current phone and I wanted something
less rubbery' for the EVO's large touch screen. I've got Ghost Armor on the way x2!

are all the ones that can "self-heal in 24 hours" made of a rubbery/zagg like texture? i want something close to glass or as smooth as possible. i thought the steinheil ones were it but i've read some threads about them scratching easily. then the clarivue ones didn't size up correctly (too small).

who would've thought it'd be this difficult :/

From what I know, yes. I have the BSE ( Best Skins Ever) on my BB and it is the "rubbery" type. I'm hoping the Calivue I ordered will be nice, although I'm starting to wish I had gotten the Anti-Glare.

Hello all!

I have a quick question... Based on everyone opinions I will be ordering a Calivue screen protector But I would like to have a screen protector on my phone on Friday ASAP. If I were to buy and install a Invisible Shield, how hard is it to remove?

I don't like Invisible shield (I don't like the orange peel look) but that seems to be one that will be available in stores on Friday. Is there a cheaper/easy to install screen protector to get me through until my shipment gets here?

Piggyback question - also, how hard are they to install?

Not as bad as some people think /assume... I helped my brother install one on his iPhone 3gs and we were done in like 5 mins.

The hard plastic squeegee that comes with the kit is really nice and the best thing to do is use lots of the solution when you are installing.

There are tons of videos on youtube on how to install one on a iphone but not for a HTC EVO yet.

New Arrivals - HTC EVO 4G

I ordered my Skinomi Techskin yesterday.

Lifetime warranty, and free shipping.

I had it on my Hero and I have it on my PSPGo. It's basically amazing. 5 months of abuse on the Hero, not a bit of yellowing, and not a single scratch. If you do happen to put a small scratch in it, it "heals" itself within 24 hours.

for $11.99 you can't beat it.

Also check Amazon, I think it's a few dollars cheaper there. :D

I ordered Calrivue should I send them back? They don't size up right really? Well someone else said perfect fit. Guess I'll wait and see. I ordered clear and Anti Glare from Clarivue and they were on back order at the time like 5-8 days but now there being shipped. I also ordered a Seidio case which will be here tomorrow and I went ahead and ordered a pack of there's also so I would have something when I got the phone. But Seidio only had clear no anti glare. So I guess I'll try Seidio's since they will be here 1st and then I will try the anti glare Calrivue ones if I don't like the Seidio or if my friend doesn't get it on there just perfect.

Ky1e,

We recommend 1 drop of Johnson's Baby Wash to 32 ounces of water. That is an approximate. We do not recommend Dish Soaps as they typically make lots of suds (something about surfactants). The purpose of the soap in the water is so that you can move the skin to get it aligned. Too much soap will make the skin not adhere and will continue to move around. The good news about too much soap is that you can remove the skin within 5 minutes, flush it off with clean water, clean you device again, and dilute your Application Solution further until you get the desired application. Oh, and never use any oily product as an application solution.

Answers:

1) See previous post from a few minutes ago.

2) You can immediately begin using your phone, just be careful. We do recommend a 2-4 hour drying period if you can leave your new phone alone that long. ;) It just ensures that the microscopic layer of Application Solution gets time to evaporate and allow the skin to adhere. This is similar to having a vehicles' windows tinted.

In addition, some people will notice that their screen has a slight foggy look immediately after the install. This again is that microscopic layer of solution. That will disappear in 24 hours or so.

Hey Phantomskinz Guru, any chance the skins will be shipped out sooner than the 4th? I know it's only a couple of days until the 4th, but I really would prefer to put a screen on it before I take it out. Thanks!

Incredible,

Sorry. We are on the same restriction as you with this new phone. I think HTC is trying to make a HUGE splash with it. I hear that we are getting it Friday as well. Once received, we will have the patterns made and begin shipping the same day. For more specific details, feel free to email our Customer Service Department for an update mid-day Friday. We will do a quick turn around and begin shipping as soon as humanly possible. This phone is our Priority, once received.

Sprint is selling 3 packs of screen protectors (2 clear, 1 anti glare) for $11.99. Picked mine up today as well as the black body glove case that we saw a review of earlier on the boards.

They also had the white case with the chrome trim. I didn't like it at all. It doesnt cover the full front of the phone like the body glove one does.

Incredible,

I have made an error, but on the good side. I was just informed by management an hour ago that we have received an EVO 4G. It is in the design studio tonight being drawn. Production will begin late tonight and orders WILL begin shipping tomorrow. I hope that many that have pre-ordered will receive their skins simultaneously with the delivery of their actual phone.

That's it. All good news.

The only screen protector that I have used, that is very hard and slick (similar to glass), is Boxwave Crystal Clear. There are probably others, but that is the only one I have personally used. All the others have been rubbery.

i have used water and dial softsoap and never had problem the screen actually cleared up alot quicker then the invisibleshield solution
