Can you get into recovery? While the phone is powered off press and hold power + vol down. Does anything happen when you do that?

no the phone is completely dead nothing turns on not even the light when you connect it to the charger. i tried a different working battery but the phone still doesn't turn on so its not the battery.

ok so you have me stumped on this one. i was thinking that maybe if you just left the charger in even though there is no light, it still may charge. however, you tried another battery and that still did not work. so i'm not sure where else we can do.

i know you do not have insurance, but heard that some places charges $35 to fix a phone, if it is fixable. i know your rooted and there is a risk of them voiding warranty, but i believe that most sprint techs really do not care if you are rooted. who knows they may see that you cannot turn the phone on and just order you another one. might be worth a shot.

unless somebody else can chime in with a better idea?

just tell them the truth that your phone will not turn on. just leave out the part that you are rooted. I would also maybe copy and erase anything like your nandroid backups and any other files that you have that shows evidence that you have a rooted phone to your computer.

yeah...it's my understanding that pulling your battery in the middle of a radio flash is one of the few ways you actually CAN brick your phone...if you can't get into recovery or bootloader, I don't know that there's anything else to do but hit the sprint store and throw yourself on the mercy of the tech

For anyone with this issue, be patient. Let it sit at that logo for a minute. The screen will flash, and it will show that logo again with a progress bar. Then it will reboot, and you will be fine.

Sorry to hear it man, if you pulled the battery when you saw that screen (while it was updating the radio) then you definitely bricked it.

ya the android out of the box is a good thing it means its installing whatever extreme hardware update you might be applying... removing the battery in this instance is a very very bad idea.

as for dealing with a tech good luck. most of them are pompus a holes with bad haircuts.

but you might get lucky

You did a battery pull WHILE the image was being flashed. That box with an arrow means it's writing. If you had waited a bit, it would have finished.

Chalk it up to poor UI design; the icon simply wasn't clear. Then again, HTC figured most people would never see that icon.

In most flash updates, whether it's a BIOS update on a PC or a firmware update for a router, camera, etc, there's usually a big fat warning saying "DO NOT POWER OFF THE DEVICE!!!" for this very reason. If you have a half-flash, you may never be able to recover without replacing the hardware where the firmware resides.

At this point, you have only one option. Take it back to Sprint and show them that it doesn't turn on, and see what they say.
