Root [FAQ-GUIDE] ClockWorkMod Optimus Elite

The MD5 was intentionally omitted as it was mentioned that if the MD5 was incorrect, the whole process wouldn't work at all. If this is not the case, then it will be included.

It may also be included for completion's sake tonight regardless.

Yeah.. It would eliminate these questions

The md5 lets you know that you have the right file before you do anything risky like overwriting your stock recovery with a corrupted file. It also lets you check that the recovery was flashed correctly before you reboot your phone and try to run some code that may not be what it should be.

Especially for the people trying to download this recovery directly on their phone. I mean, it is getting beamed through the air into space and rattling around in a satellite, and probably somewhere along the way it travels through brooklyn. I wouldn't trust anything that went through there. It works out for everybody involved if you check the hash of the file before flashing it.

To, well, everyone: How readable and usable is this FAQ-Guide, on a scale of 1 to 10, and where can it improve in terms of readability/usability?

Take out the assumption that I don't care about the various formatting, syntax, semantics and background changes.......what on earth made you think that?

If you saw my earlier example of three unbolded periods that should have been bolded, well....

If there are significant changes outside of things like the three previously-unbolded periods, they will be posted with their own section in the changelog. I thought about that in advance. Take for example the division between what is Required versus what is Recommended in prerequisites. That was a significant formatting change, whereas something like underlining every unquoted link was a minor one that didn't alter the overall function of the FAQ-Guide. If I posted every little change like that, the Changelog would be hideous and ungodly large. As such, it is reserved for anything important - like a new build of CWM, adding the MD5, or dividing the Prerequisites.

I think it's excellent.

Any suggestions?

You might want to add that the power button can be used as select as well in section 3.0.5.

Also there is nothing in here that I can see about fixing the time offset.

Thank you.

And with that, everyone, the ROM Flashing tutorial is up. Check the changelog for more details, and enjoy. And, as usual, if there are any changes or updates to be made, please post them and the FAQ-Guide will be updated ASAP.
