It really isn't that hard to set up, and you only have to set it up once. Some of the things I do:

Forgive me, but this sounds very interesting. Does this mean the app senses when the phone is moving rapidly (>10mph) using the gps that it will AUTOMATICALLY turn this feature on (then off again)?

No, I have a setup so that when my phone connects to bluetooth in my car it automatically turns on my car profile in Tasker

I had the same problem with my htc desire. The fact is, nowadays app sizes are large and take up too much room in the older phones. I was forced to get a newer phone so i got the htc desire z. When i had 27mb free on the htc desire, i now have more than 800mb free on the desire z. But i have to say, the htc desire was a better handset.

I had the Desire too and had the same problem, just not enough space. Now I have the Samsung Galaxy S2, I have every app I could possibly want and have still used less than 25% of the storage... bliss!

True, I will pay for an app if I like it, but I do like to try before I buy..

Trying before you buy is fine and if a dev doesn't offer a free trial then I'm not sure I want to buy it anyway.
