First Apps for your phone

anyone know if there is an app which will change ur wallpaper in ur sd card per day or per hours like what windows 7 did with their OS? that will be awesome!!

i have the desktop change every 24hours.

on my old touch pro 2, i change every sunday just to keep it look refreshing.

Wallpaper switcher - Android app on AppBrain

This is the best app I have found, it works awesome, you can choose any folder you have wallpaper stored in, and it doesn't kill your battery

Is there any app that automatically updates your apps? That way you don't have to update each and every one?

Not yet, this is a feature of Froyo. My daughter's Droid is now running Froyo and all you have to do is select "enable automatic updates" for each app, then everytime there is an update it is automatically downloaded to your phone

It would be nice to flag updates you don't want. I have plenty apps I don't care if the never get updated.

I don't remember if it was AppBrain or App Market, but if you long press an app that needs to be updated, you can set it to "never update."

Can you not read or were you just getting ahead of yourself? I said I don't have any money to buy it.

You don't have $5 to your name? How else would you get a smart phone... Sorry for assuming you had at least $5 in your pocket.

I think I'll be removing battery left. System states I'm at 70% yet battery left says I have 16%... States full accuracy.

I've been adding to my AppBrain list recently. Take a look if you haven't already. :)

Instead of disrespecting this forum and OP, my reply will be made via PM, john.

I have a droid 1 and am waiting for my X to arrive. Here are the Apps I use daily that I find invaluable:
Dolphin HD Browser
Hancent (Text messaging)
K-9 (email)
3-Cubed (music player)
Antivirus free
Astro (file management)
Audible.com (audio book service)
Better Alarm
Bluetooth file manager
Bump (trade apps, etc)
Keyring
Note everything
Phonebook 2.0
Quick Profiles (from my old BB days)
Vlingo voice (blows away the google voice recognition)$
Easy Tether (paid version)
Office Suite Pro (paid version)
App Monster (back up apps to sd)

You should try the new voice command that comes with froyo. Its really good. Works better than vlingo IMO.

weird I could never get vlingo to understand me. Do you have Froyo on the D1? try searching for the new voice search in the market. I'm serious, it catches everything for me. but hey different strokes!

Hello, I am sorry if there is already a thread on this but I tried searching and this topic seems too general for the forum search.

Anyways, my droid x is supposed to get delivered tomorrow. The only experience I have with android is playing around with my friends' phones several times. So basically I'm looking for any "must get" apps that I should focus on getting as soon as I get my device. Don't really know anything specific that I want so any suggestions would be great. Thanks.

Yeah definitely, wish I didn't have work!

Sorry but as a noob I am confused by this.

ATK stands for advanced task killer. There is currently a raging debate over whether or not to use task killers on newer versions of android. Some claim they are not needed at all and others claim they help battery life greatly. You can try it yourself and see how it does for you.

I know this is a little late. Your issue probably is that the program was not allowed to run a 100% full cycle when training it. You need to let the phone go from 100% to shutting itself off because the battery is low. The good news is that it is simple to retrain the app.

I've found battery left does not report accurately in froyo. I've done complete full cycle monitoring on it twice in a row now with full green 100% accuracy, and it still reports 20-30% less then the froyo battery report.

I removed it this am, actually, because I thought I was running low, when in fact I had plenty of juice left.

Gareee you're thinking about voice search. Google voice is an app that allows you to use a different phone number to make calls and sms without using minutes. It also provides free visual Voicemail.
