Root Flashable goodies?

Hey guys, I've been looking around and can't find any flashable splash logos for the Optimus v. Could you point me in the right direction of where I could find some or make some? I can't stand the lg logo. Thanks guys :)

I don't think that's flashable. If i remember correctly, it's part of the kernel. That's the boot image that shows while the kernel is loading.

The splash screen can be changed, but it's a lot more involved and not for those that are inexperienced. If you've been developing ROM's or messing with ROM porting, then it's a piece of cake. Other than that, you better pack a big lunch.

Silver LG logo screen when you first turn on cannot be changed, screen after that one can be....the silver LG logo screen you get as soon as you turn on is unchangeable on most LG phones, it has nothing to do with kernels, your phone could be bricked with an HTC kernel and you'll still get that silver LG screen as soon as you turn it on.

I was going by the 1st post where the OP asks about the splash screen. The LG logo is not the splash screen. The splash screen is the screen just before the bootanimation, and can be changed.

For the second animation stance thing, that's.... I forgor where. I have to look for you. But its RLE files. I'm sure soneone on AndroidCentral had made a png to rle tool

They have, but they don't work that well. They are in /bootimages, or you can de-compile the boot.img and theres a folder in there with rle's.

Jerry went over this in the BACKside thread. I personally don't worry about it, how much time do you spend looking at the splash screen? The vast majority of the time I never see that stuff anyway, so to me it isn't worth the stress.

+2

How often do you you have to reboot? It's a simple design too so it's probably not a worry on battery life.
