Yeah, both softwares have nice features that they can learn from each other. Entertainment wise, Google Play is far behind iTunes, not just in apps but in music and movie selections. In addition, HD Movie in Google Play is a joke! Samsung Media Hub HD movies are far higher quality. I think that Touchwiz is better than plain JB because it is more intuitive to use...but again, not as intuitive as Apple iOS. I think that for the average person (like me), iOS is better software wise. Google (and to a lesser extent Touchwiz) needs to learn from Apple that not everything needs submenu of a submenu of a menu! Make it easy to recognize the additional "hidden" features and consistent across the board.
As for security, it is well known that iOS is very secure. Yeah, there was a recent survey that says otherwise. There is always some survey that sides with one or the other. But, the most telling part is that US government favors iOS over Android for security reasons. That is just facts. Look at how many times Google has to "clean up" Google Play of spam. Once every few months or so?
I do like certain simple widgets on Android...for example, the speed dial widget ("Touch 2 Dial") is infinitely useful for me on the road. Love it. "Advance clock widget" is yet another genius widget that is a model of simplicity and concise information! I would love Apple to make basic (non-battery draining) widgets available.
But, hardware, I love Note 2's cell reception!! The Wifi also locks on quicker than Apple iPhone 5. Overall, I am happy with both...and I have both in my house.
