I was using a 16gb gold card. (supposedly). I got error 130 on both RUUs i tried. (2.09.405.8 & 2.10.405.2)Ok so I pretty much followed all the instructions to a tee and it still did not work, I get Error 130 [Model ID Error] with the first update
This is probably because your goldcard is not good. (error 130 and 131 share a ddescription in the readme). For an unbranded device, I am getting Error 131 - customer ID error.

Read this thread and it will tell you how to fix your problem!!

Good luck!!!
As for the 8181 thing my phone is the Telus 8182 but after the update it now reads 8181, I would not worry about it as long as it works on the 850/1900 bands!!!
Try rolling back to version 2.1 and then doing an update to Froyo v2.2 again with the goldcard and it should fix the issue. Go back to the first page of the update thread and read where it says to downgrade to 2.1 and then re-read the update process again:Still didnt fix the wifi problem

No, unlocking has nothing to do with flashing firmware so it's ok to go back and forth. The version in the thread is an unbranded 2.1 as well anyway, but it should get your WiFi working, then update properly to 2.2 to get Froyo.will this affect my phone being unlocked because i need it unlocked to be on ATTs network?

Try making a new goldcard on a different microSD. Be careful to follow the instructions exactly if you didn't the first time.
Easy, make a goldcard, update to the lastest generic version from HTC and you're done. The first post of this thread has all the details or links needed to get it done. Making a goldcard with the creation tool is easier than it sounds, and flashing is easy too. Since you've rooted, the rest shouldn't be hard to figure out.Sorry I am a bit lost here...
I have an HTC desire which is unlocked, I have rooted it today and need to unroot it and I don't have a goldcard..
Can someone just tell me in simple steps what should I do to unroot it again ?

Hi
I got my HTC Desire in Saudi Arabia. It has a 2.1 Firmware.
When I go to system software update it tells me:
" Your phone is up to date "
" There are no updates available for your phone" !!!
i think this is because of the 2.1 is applicable with the middle east.
my brother got his phone- the same - from France when he was traveling. he also lives in Saudi Arabia, when the 2.2v came out he downloaded it from his phone with no problem.
he has a good running 2.2v
I did everything by the book.
It asked me if I want update the ROM from 1.30.415.3 to 2.09.405.8
It was processing and told me it might take up to 10 mints.
Boot loader is running, after that updating signature
I am having some troubles after successfully flashing 2.10. Is it possible to reflash it to the 2.09 ruu?
Software verison 2.10.405.2 is the latest RUU or OTA update for generic unbranded Desires running Android Froyo v2.2 firmware. I'm guessing any further updates will be to Android Gingerbread v2.3 firmware unless a software patch is needed to fix an issue with the current version.Shipped ROMs
Is that the latest version available?
