Future phones for Virgin Mobile USA?

I could expect them to drop it completely... I wouldn't be all that surprised that if/ when they get the Evo and One V that they just discontinue the MT so they would probably drop the price to get rid of inventory then after that no more MT. Well from VM at least...

That wouldn't surprised me at all. I like my Triumph, but the Hardware/build quality is TERRIBLE. The screen is better after the hack, but still not wonderful. Half the time the capacitive buttons screw up and won't work right. The batter cover won't stay on. The screen will sometimes be a washed out white when you turn it on and you have to cycle it again. I've had 3 batteries die on me. Finally, I've had the charging port go out. All of this was either from day one or within a year of having the phone.

HTC is known for their build quality. The one V is even unibody. I would trade this piece in for an HTC handset as soon as I could afford it. I just pray they make the EVO 3D require a "new plan" and force me to give up my $25 plan.

Does anyone else see the resemblance between the LG Optimus Black and the iPhone? I'm surprised LG didn't get sued over that by Apple.

1. that isn't the black it's the Elite.

2. it has hardly any resemblance to the iphone... it has a power button in the same spot, it's black, and it has a bezel that's about it... It may have some, but nothing to get sued over...

3. Apple would rather go after Samsung than LG.;)

If they haven't gotten rid of the Intercept, they won't get rid of the Triumph. They may drop the price, but they won't stop selling it.

Also how many people and how many replacements have there been for the MT compared to the intercept? I know that there have been people who have gotten 8 or more replacements  since there seems to be no QC for the MT. I mean I don't know that they will get rid of, but considering the amount of returns they get... I mean idk how the returns were with the intercept since I never owned it so I never followed it...

I personally know quite a few people who have the Intercept (with either Sprint or VM), including myself. I was moderator over on a different site that was totally Intercept.... everyone complained about the phone even after they pushed an OTA update. It's ok for light (and I do mean light) use, but anything more than that and the phone is best used as a paper weight. Not even sure how it made it off the line at QA.

In all fairness though, no one can know which phone had the most returns. Only Samsung, Sprint, and VM USA would have those numbers. If I had to guess though I would say the Intercept simply because it's been out a lot longer.

VMUSA desperately needs new phones. I just got my optimus v, but if virgin could get some better phones on the market I'd upgrade as soon as I could. I'd buy the EVO 3d if it came to virgin...

Optimus Elite has been announce.

"Sprint and LG Launch Third Device in 2012 with Eco-Friendly Features, LG Optimus Elite"

Since I'm new here I can't post the link but you can find it in Sprint's Newsroom.

I'm beginning to think the HTC One V speculation that it was coming to virgin mobile usa was WRONG and only based on the name of the device.

not true. It was actually part of the original announcement by HTC at MWC. This is the only article I could find. You can search for "virgin mobile" in the press release.

HTC officially unveils their lineup of One Series devices | Android Central

He is right. VMU is listed (in the North America area, both US and Canada). IMHO, I think HTC has the power to really do well in the prepaid segment. While the only device VMU has is the Wildfire (which... I hear OK things about), the One V would be a great phone to have to the mix. (Although we deserve a DC phone.. a la Evo 3D)

i know im probably dreaming but i would love to have a windows phone in virgins lineup

Ehh. Not enough customization for me...but that's just a personal preference. I think they would keep all the Windows phones for contract customers because they make way more money that way.

Glad I am not the only one who have had issues with battery cover, Batteries and the usb plug going out. I like the Triumph but it would be really nice if they upgrade the software from VMO. I had mine rooted with CM7 and 2.3.7 on it. Also tried the motorolatriumphhacks.com site for the ICS. It kept losing the network connection and not just for data part but also the texting and calling. Have the replacement from VMO now, just sticking with stock for now.

I hope that by the start of summer (Which I will say is June 2012), they have new phones. Otherwise I'm going to be considering moving carriers.

I bet they will wait til after May 27th to release anymore new phones. I received a text from Virgin Mobile that said all new phones are subject to new phone plan rates effective May 27. So those who are grandfathered in at $25 per month will have to stay on those phones if they want to keep that plan.. or pay the new $35 per month when they switch..

I received that same message from Virgin that if you switch phones after 5/27/12 you will be subject to current plan rates. That is too bad, I hope it means they will get much better phones but it makes me not even want to switch to the HTC One V if I have to pay $10 more a month for it. Now the Evo 3d I would purchase and pay the extra money since the phone is a lot better.

Its looking like I picked a good time to jump ship. I would have wanted to upgrade to whatever phone they end up getting, but now the jump from $25 to Straight Talk's $45 won't hurt so much.
