Future phones for Virgin Mobile USA?

intresting article, would be a nice phone to have if it ever came to virgin. seeing how the marquee went to boost i dont think we will see this phone for vmu

I have heard some people say Straight Talk is a better deal. They supposedly use Sprint's Network as well. I do not know a lot about them, so you would have to do some research on them.

Arg my eyes! D: Wtf kind of myspace layout did they use for their site? I thought they'd be trying to attract customers not make them blind...

Their website is just terrible. The colors are hideous.

Their Android selection is not that great either. I think I would stay with VM or switch to Boost before I would even consider Straight Talk.

Tried and true is the right way to go. At least I can log into VM, pay my bill with few hassles, and figure out how to contact CSR when needed. Can't say I love their internet speeds. though.

I jumped ship to Sprint and got my wife and I Samsungs Galaxy S II Epics...
We love our new phones...
We also got a good deal on our monthly rate because my step daughter grandmothered us into her account, so we will be paying about the same we are paying for VM coverage...

VM.. I am sorry, but phone choice was a big indicator to embark into new territory...

I will still be arround provided there is a thread for such a phone here, Which I am sure there is one...
I hope I did not kidnap the thread, I just wanted to add my comments here in this particular one...

Sorry VM. I also jumped ship. Bought a Galaxy SII and went with T-Mobile's $30 5GB data no contract plan. Loved your V but I need something I can see.

I've been considering this as well Atmazz. Maybe not the Galaxy, there was an LG at which I was looking on T-Mobile.

I was able to get the Galaxy from someone on Craigslist for $375. If it wasn't for the price, and Uncle Sam's refund, I wouldn't have one. Switching to TM was kind of a no brainer for me.

I've been a long time VM user but had the 300 minute smart phone plan for 2 months. The first month I used 20 minutes. The last month I used 9 minutes. 100 minutes with T-mobile and 2.5 gig more data for $5 less a month will be fine with me. Not to mention 4G. :)

The article (if it is even long enough to call it that) says it is a 3.7" screen, specs from HTC say 4.7". Wish I could afford this beast, 16gb internal memory (probably be 12 or something useable) would be a real nice upgrade from the Optimus.

[edit]actually that is the HTC One for AT&T, wonder if the specs will be the same for VMU.

[editII]Okay, the HTC One V is a lower quality phone than the standard One. More info here: http://www.slashgear.com/htc-one-v-heading-to-metro-pcs-virgin-mobile-and-us-cellular-27215747/

I'd have to say I'd be pretty sad if Virgin doesn't get any dual core phones before the summer, but with only the One V coming to Virgin, it doesn't look like that is going to happen. Dang.

I am still baffled. That phone still doesn't have a single spec better than the triumph other than the camera. And this is just a rumor. come on virgin mobile. You can do better. The triumph is 7 months old!

Heck all this HTC One V has to do is work correctly out of the box and it has the Triumph beat. If it has

1) working GPS without requiring hacks or rooting
2) smooth interface without hacks or rooting
3) a recent version of Android without rooting

then it has the Triumph beat hands down.

1. Hacking/rooting the triumph is unbelievably easy since it's unbrickable.
2. The HTC One V will be running HTC Sense, so you might as well consider that 1Ghz processor a 700Mhz processor and consider 512 Mb RAM as 256Mb of RAM because sense is a processor/memory whore.

Supposedly Sense 4.0 is much slimmer.

according to the picture on slashgear, the phone comes with beats audio, do you think that is for the contract models or is that coming to virgin?

It's a hardware feature. It most likely won't come with the headphones to support it though. Meaning you would have to spend $100+ on beats to take advantage of it. And this is all because beats is contracted with HTC now, so all future HTC phones will most likely come with beats audio.

Have you ever used a phone running sense? Sense really doesn't have much if any at all effect on performance.

Was browsing the Wikipedia page for Virgin Mobile and under upcoming devices it lists ZTE Venture, ZTE Chaser, and LG optimus elite.

Ugg, the Lg Optimus Elite looks like another phone that is anything but Elite. Why does Virgin continue to release handsets that are downgrades from what they have released before? I'm still hoping for the Htc One V to be announced!

My girlfriend has the Droid Incredible. I believe it has the same specs as the Triumph processor/RAMwise.

She has an unbelievable amount of problems with it, even since the gingerbread update.
She gets some low memory warning that I've never heard of with any non-sense phone. It won't allow installation of any apps, and her settings show plenty of RAM and ROM available. Best buy and Verizon both just say factory data reset as the only fix, and she's had to do it many times.
It also will randomly delete all of her messages at once with no rhyme or reason, even the locked messages.
It will act slow like my old intercept at times and you have to be patient(and build up anger) while working with it.
And yes, I know these problems aren't all that bad, and you can work with, but it's just not something that would happen on the stock android with the same phone.

And since typing my last comment I have read various articles that say HTC has cut down sense 4.0 so as to give a better android experience. Let's all hope for that to be the truth.

I know its probably a stupid question...but any idea when some new phones may be released? Its been a while.

I recently LOST my optimus v and id rather not shell out a cnote for another one when something new is right around the corner...

The triumph is not dual core, nor will it ever have ics.
