Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Just wanted to share some battery stat info...
I have the GSM Nexus with stock android and battery. I the only battery related app I use is Battery Gauge Widget (so I have battery % displayed in notification bar).

Battery died just after 14hrs 45mins
Screen on time just over 4hrs 15mins
Android OS had a wake time over 8hrs (don't remember the CPU time)

Even though I got less than 15hrs on a charge I feel like the 4+hrs I had the screen on is pretty impressive. I'm still in the "honeymoon phase" and think I'll have no problem making it thru a day once my usage calms down a little...

Very impressive screen on time indeed. Must be GSM efficiency over CDMA I'm guessing

yeah i am. it's the only one i've tried so far but i really like it. i thought i'd give it a couple days and then try another one, either birdman's or gummy. but you are right, the customizations in roman's build are really nice.

That is what I like his customizations. Right up my alley! Especially since they are mostly optional, it gives you the choice :)

definitely. also, let us know how you like gummy once you've gotten to use it for a bit.

I will! I just flashed franco's kernel on top of gummy I've heard and read it is really nice. The stock kernel for gummy has a little jerkiness when scrolling through the app drawer swiftly. I've had this on almost every single 4.0.3 rom.....

Morning guys. I have some time before work to flash Pete's latest nightly. I love stock so it should be great and I've only heard good things about his new ROMs.
So I flipped out yesterday when I had NO data for much of the day. I spent the bus ride to work doing everything I could: reboots, AP mode toggle, deleted a couple root apps, restored a nandroid and finally a battery pull. None worked. Didn't even occur to me it was an outage. Ah well.
Anywho, I had a hell of a time getting the back plate back on. I had to get some help from someone at work. Does anyone have any tips for putting it on easily? I hope I don't have to do many more battery pulls, but since I'm gonna start flashing, it's pretty inevitable.

I slide the bottom of the plate in and work my way up the sides, making sure everything is seated properly and snapped in

That's what we ended up doing. I think in my impatient attempts I slightly bent the little tabs that go into the bottom so it wasn't sealing properly. Guess I'll have to be a bit more gentle going forward :o (wonder how much replacement backs are?)

Had a friend call last night, was sitting in my basement looking at a signal bouncing between -110 and -120 dbm with 99 asu and zero bars..........

Talked for 14 minutes, crisp clear sound for whatever it's worth, still have never been unable to send a txt either, even with zero bars.

But data connectivity is far, FAR weaker than the other phones in my house, and both my Nexus ands my son's Thunderbolt are set to CDMA only (no 4G here yet)

Thank God for Wifi!!!!!!!!!

Dear god, is there another 4G outage?!?!?!
Sitting here when both of us (GN, Bionic) get at least 2-3 bars of 4G and both are 3G only.
What the hell Verizon!

Why I love this phone: I had 2 pics on my gallery screen called auto upload that I couldnt clear...I pressed the mic icon on the google bar and asked how to clear them. BINGO! It sends me right to the info I needed. It doesnt get any easier than that.

$5 on Verizon's site iirc.

It's funny, I've been a die hard SwiftKey fan since it came out. But, the stock ICS one has actually converted me!
A lot of it is that the keys are bigger than SK
Never been a huge Swype fan, too many mistakes for me. I do have SlideIt installed (got it for $.99). Haven't tried it yet though.

I haven't installed Swiftkey either. I only miss the number pad in it. Otherwise I'm using the ICS keyboard

Wow! Yeah time flew by.
i still miss the epic thread with the mid night pre-order party's.;)

Me too. But I love having a crew of us in here to hang out.

I removed my search bar but things like that are why I love Google

I use the stock ICS keyboard as well. Bought Swiftkey on sale thinking I would use it and loved it on the OG Droid, but I have no reason to switch with the ICS keyboard.

How did you remove your search bar? I assume you flashed a ROM?

No. Its in the settings somewhere. I can't remember where though. Its dead space now but I make wallpaper to fill the space.

Hey everyone! Coming to my last day in Florida. 4G has been a pretty big disappointment, supposed to have blanket coverage here but really intermittant. I was pretty annoyed with the article stating our signal issues were all in our head. Anyone know if those leaked radios are helping?

I use swiftkey mainly because the typing lag in landscape is very annoying with the stock keyboard, and swiftkey doesn't have that problem.
