Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

I have an HP. I like it. Little over 4 years now.

I said some magic words and I'm running malearebytes right now. Then I'll see if anything will run.

Had malwarebytes run and MSE. As soon I try Chrome or IE...nothing.

Sorry to hear about your computer troubles halon. I wish I could help, but my knowledge is clearly more basic than yours.

So did everyone see Verizon's COO is announcing "the reinvention of the wireless customer experience" tomorrow at 2pm EST. Anyone want to take a guess at what that means? Even less value in a plan?

So a bit of a scare tonight, got home to see the two boys across the street driving their golf cart rather stupidly, turning sharply to get on two wheels. I just got finished telling my son he was to never ride on the cart with them, and was about to walk in the house, when I heard a crash, followed by one of the boys screaming. I sprinted over there and found the cart on its side with the younger boy underneath it. He was the one screaming about his leg. I lifted up the cart and his brother picked him up and we took him inside their house. His mom and her boyfriend were in there, and thankfully it seemed both boys were alright. But the golf cart was mangled, the whole roof support structure turned into a pretzel, and the roof and windshield were broken. It's a miracle those boys weren't hurt.

Wow anti..scary.
Thanks for the input from everyone..love the note 3 and it fits me personally. I like the ui so far but would rather have tibu so i will prolly root. The vzw rep at the store took the update "for me" so thats a complication. Got the wife an HTC one about a month ago and she loves that one. We ended up with a shared plan about a year ago and just don't have the coverage here at home to switch but oh well. Will be interesting to see what VZW has to say tomorrow anyways.
And good luck with the Acer halon...ouch.

For once I fixed a computer and I have no idea what I did.

It is now running like nothing ever happened.

I'm still backing everything up that I can think of.

Between the N7 a few weeks ago, rooting the G2 and now this...maybe it is sign to stay away from electronics?

Good morning.

One bummed Chief and Mrs. Chief this morning... we got her super customized Moto X yesterday afternoon and as soon as I tried to temporarily remove the SIM to activate it the blasted SIM drawer broke! I couldn't put the SIM back in!

Verizon won't replace a 25-cent piece of metal because I ordered it directly from Motorola. Motorola says that the part isn't in stock and would have to be back ordered. No thanks, this gorgeous phone is going back as a DOA device. If they won't replace a 25-cent part, they'll have to replace the whole $650 phone.

All in all a pulse pounding, stressful night last night on the phone with just about everybody and nobody wants to help. If ever there was a nightmare scenario for MotoMaker, I lived through it last night.

Yeah I know, First World problem

Happy Tuesday everyone...

Sounds frustrating, Chief. I can't stand it when it's a little thing with no viable solution.

I just had a huge blowup at work because some idiot at an office forgot to sign a piece of paper that we DESPERATELY needed. Faxed it to us without signing. I called him immediately back. Office was closed. Called his cell phone. Went straight to voicemail. Called a neighboring field office to go to his house. Office closed. Called that guy's cell phone, he went over to the idiot's house, no one home.

Wound up causing a huge delay that almost screwed up an entire case.

So I understand the feeling of wanting to tear out your hair, or better yet, go and tear out someone else's hair. lol

So after my laptop problem yesterday I woke up, turned it on and noticed in bottom right corner it says...Windows 7 Build 7601 This copy of Windows is not genuine

Does anyone know anything about IPv6?

For some reason, when I switched to it on my custom rom, it made my data speeds more steady. I've been having problems lately with very high LTE speeds for the first few seconds of downloading something, only to have it slow WAY down.

Switching to IPv6 seems to have fixed the problem. But I have no idea why.

Edit - just saw this -

T-Mobile is just looking better and better and better.

Shoot, I knew it was too soon to get excited about.

Even on IPv6, I'm getting the same problems. Shoots through the first 35mb on a download, then slows down like crazy. 30% done in 3 seconds, now I'm at 35% after a full minute.

I don't know what the heck is going on.

All sites or just the one?

Everything. I'm downloading an app from Play Store right now that is 107mb. It shot to 30% completed in a few seconds. I've been stuck between 37% and 39% now for the last 10 minutes. Still downloading, but only a few kb at a time.

Just as I thought. No help.

Ugh. Frustrating. I'm wondering if it's the phone. I have checked around and asked on various forums with T-Mobile customers and no one else seems to have this issue.

I don't think it's "T-Mobile screwing me over", because otherwise there would be a lot more people getting pissed about it. My wife doesn't have the same problem, either. She's on a Crapple 5.
