Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

UPDATE ON ELECTION I'M RUNNING IN:

So you want to know the verdict, huh?

Really?

Well so do I! As it turns out, the one provisional ballot that was to break the election tie apparently SKIPPED the Commissioner section - he didn't vote for either of us, ergo we're still tied!

What happens next? The newly-elected Commission will swear in and take up the empty seat as a first vote. They will break the tie. NEXT MONTH!

So thanks for the well wishes: I hope they extend into September! :p

And that's the way the election went.

Back to your regularly scheduled programming...

Seeing Nickel Creek with the lady tonight! :D
Coincidentally her birthday as well. Going to Wolf Trap for the show; first time ever going there. Can't wait!

Changing sets. Nickel Creek should be on soon. :)

@evleaks recommend TK Tech News. Here is a tweet from him.

First android silver device to debut on verizon wireless. Nexus aosp features premium specs.

Might be the Moto S.

Everything I've heard lately has said silver has been scrapped and the nexus line is back in. It would explain why it took google soooo long to finally come out and say nexus isn't dead.

Nexus could end up being a part of silver, but only time will tell.

My bet is silver itself got scrapped

I just don't see the point of Silver if they have stressed the importance of GPE devices.
But man, I thought I was going to hang on to my G2 for a while. If Verizon does indeed pick up a premium/Nexus like device, I may switch. However, if it is done by Moto, they really gotta step up their camera game and wow me.

There once was a day, not too long ago, that I would have swooned over a Nexus on Verizon ( that wasn't a Galaxy Nexus 2 :p ). But I am so addicted to the convenience of the S-pen on the Note series, I can't imagine having a phone without one.

So you guys can fawn over the new Nexus on VZW... but I'll be there when the store opens at 9 AM on September 15th to plunk down cash for a Note 4. Bent screen or no, it'll be a sheer BEAST.

<--- Only ever swooned over ONE thing. A woman who, 24 years ago, agreed to be my Darling Bride :o

In all intellectual honesty, though, the idea of a bent-screen Note on Verizon gives me the shivers and shakes... but I have never approximated anything close to a swoon over technology.

YET ;)

:)

A phone with a pen? I don't see how that's going to be of use. I use my tablet every day in school, but a phone...

The beauty of the S-pen is in its simplicity and convenience. For example, I meet a lot of people on the go. I just pull out the stylus and a memo screen pops up. I can write their name and number down, maybe an address too.

Later, when I'm ready to use that information, I call up that memo, hit a link and the information goes straight into Contacts. Or I can circle the number and it will dial that number for me. Or I can circle the address and the phone opens Maps and Navigation.

There is so much the S-pen can do besides that, but I rarely need multiple apps running on the same screen to drag & drop things from one to another. It's there, though. I can hardly wait to see what enhancements the Note 4 has...
