With all the love for AOKP, I'm going to have to check it out. Thus far, I find I keep returning to Revolution (and default/stock kernel). It has given me the best battery life of the few ROMs I've tried and just works with no bugs or missing functionality.Love AOKP.
i have no problem as long as credit is given where it is due, which he did. i appreciate the fact that he, and others, pull their favorite features from different roms and compile them into one. sure, most of the mods existed somewhere else before, but you couldn't load one rom and get them all.
as far as the donate link goes, its not like he is forcing anyone to click it. if someone likes the features he has put together, why not give them a way to express it? charging for someone else's work is unacceptable, but accepting donations for the work he did do, as well as the support he provides is completely fine by me.
ok jb - I'm running lean kernel. What settings should I have in setCPU? please and thank you.
Love AOKP.
Hey all, I'm still getting random reboots - yesterday I got two. I'm not really sure what might be causing them, does anyone know? Also, is anyone else having issues with this?
EDIT: Oh, also, my browser has crashed a few times, just like it used to on my OG Droid. I only had a few tabs open, I thought the GNex could handle it. Anyone else had that happen?
Good morning peeps! I'm about to flash AOKP M2 over build 15, but was wondering about which kernel to use? I got a couple of random reboots using 15 with Franco's kernel, although I should mention I flashed the newest 4.0.3 radios, although I don't think that was a problem.
Yeah it could be about 100 different things lol.
To start the troubleshooting steps feel free to PM me or any of the other helpful members around these parts
Oh. and Good Morning gang!

Haven't seen you around much Han! Having too much fun playing Skyrim and SWTOR?Good morning peeps! I'm about to flash AOKP M2 over build 15, but was wondering about which kernel to use? Interesting, so AOKP is more stable than stock? Lol. Doesn't reflect very well on Google and Sammy.Like stated above it could be a lot of things.. 1st thing to do is flash stock AOKP no kernel. And see what happens. It could be the underclocking and UV of whatever you were using. If you were stock, then flash lean kernel or Franco and leave stock.. see what happens. Everyone's device is different. Mine LOVES franco kernel, nothing else runs as smooth..
Since buying the phone, it's probably up to around 15 random reboots for me. I got one last night while the phone was laying there in sleep mode, but usually it's while I'm trying to do something, which is rather frustrating.Haven't had a browser crash, but I have had maybe a total of 5-6 random reboots that I've noticed since I bought the phone. Every time, the phone is just laying there in sleep mode and it reboots itself. Running stock. Not a problem for me, but odd indeed.

My only random reboots have occured while trying to turn up the volume and holding down the power button by mistake, haha. I have decided to stick with stock for now, as my daily routine never has me worried about the battery.
I ordered some NFC stickers though, can't wait for those to arrive. I wish I had a dock or two to put them on, I really don't want to stick them on my desk and nightstand.

lol
One thing that is really cool imo about the stickers and NFC in general with the GN, is that I stuck them underneath my work desk, underneath my bedside table, and underneath my cup holder in my car. It reads just fine through wood and plastic (about 1/2" to 3/4" thick). And you can't see anything it's like magic
If you have a drawer in the desk etc... you can open it, and stick on the underside where you would set your phone down.
I would like the dock as well, this is kind of a temp fix I guess
Thats a great idea, although my desk at work is quite a bit thicker than that. I figure I will just put one on a post-it till I get a permanent solution.
I don't think I've experienced any reboots, but my battery life sucks and my 4G isn't as good as it should be (really varies from all 4 bars of 4G to switching back to 3G just a short way down the road). So I am about ready to start ROM'ing. From all the discussion here I think I'm going to try the latest AOKP. I'm currently unlocked, but not rooted and running stock 4.02 with Nova Launcher.
So it works through quite an array of materials around my house I'm really impressed. The only thing I tested that it will not read through is a 1 1/4" thick solid wood door and metals (SS sink). It goes through glass, wood, particle board, plastic. Metal it has an issue with even thin metal it's hit or miss. If your desk is 1" thick of wood you should be fine. Unless you're using a chop block/cutting board girth'd desk
