Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

I haven't stressed it much so far. Just a couple videos and web browsing, but site rendering is much better on the Chromebook. I'm really just a web PC person so this is great (especially since Chrome is my browser of choice). Screen is much better on the Prime, but performance, so far, seems to be better on the Chromebook. With the docking station, I spent $500 on the Prime. This cost half. You do the math. ;):D
Also, it's lighter, the keyboard is better and it isn't as top heavy as the Prime.

The top heaviness of the transformer was always one thing that irritated me about it, and that price difference sure is drastic. I just wonder how well it will sell because it seems the netbook market is failing in favor of the tablet market.

I have an old HP netbook (when my desktop died). XP just drags even with an Intel Celeron. So far, this is working quite smoothly. I have really no experience with Linux distros, but this this seems to be just as light weight and not so taxing on the OS.

When my laptop died, I started using splashtop on my transformer a lot more as a replacement. I actually like using Ubuntu over windows in general, but there's no splashtop streamer for Ubuntu yet, plus I don't use it much anymore because I have been trying endlessly to try and get my wireless card to work with it, but to no avail :(

Okay, here's the link to the Dropbox folder:

My plan here is to MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP and then immediately dirty flash the ROM & these Gapps. Hopefully nothing will go wrong: if it does, I'll simply wipe everything and restore the nandroid until I'm ready to clean flash everything. Almost charged up!

EDIT: Please, dear readers, check your MD5s before flashing these. Astro is a free file manager and can calculate MD5s. Flashing a bad download could really spoil your day :)
You make life to easy for us Chief. Thanks!

I am getting that from a lot of people... Especially with the new pricing, the N7 is the tablet of choice now for the sub 10" market. Google has a winner on their hands, and with JB, Android never looked so good. :D

Good Morning Everyone! How are all are friends faring in the North East this am? We have bee cold here for us, the temps the last few days have been more like a late January or February cold snap with lows in the 30's and highs only in the upper 40's or low 50's. This weekend is looking great though as we venture back into lows in the 50's and highs in the 70's. I am so glad its going back to normal...oh how I hate to be cold.....brrrrrrr. Have a great day everyone!

I've had 3 friends who had iPhone 4'sent have their upgrades come up and convinced 2 to get the gs3, the other the RAZR maxx HD. All 3 love them so far and one was a huge Apple fanboy. Shows how far things have progressed.

A lot of former iPhone 4 owners I know found the iPhone 5 underwhelming and decided to try that "next big thing".

Kudos to Sammy on their marketing

The ad where the big guy is looking at the screen size difference saying, "I like to win!" while the little old lady next to him shoots back, "You like to whine," slays me every time I see it. :D

Good morning Gnexers!

Holy smokes, I just took a peek at the Walmart Black Friday ad: an HP2000 laptop for $279!

Looks like it's gonna be a long night for the Chief :p

Sears will have a 50'' LED Toshiba for $299. I'm thinking that could be an item a lot of people will go after.

You can buy wine on Amazon now but only if you have Prime.

Starting today, anyone in California, Connecticut, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, Nevada, North Carolina, Oregon, Washington, Wyoming and the District of Columbia can get up to six bottles in one order, with a shipping cost of just $10.

Good morning friends.

When people in California complain about the weather, I scoff. I hear of you folks weather and know of the weather around the nation and I have to say we are lucky here in Cali.

That is a killer deal, I might have to do more research on this to see if it's worth the nightmare.

What a shame, NY isn't on the list. Probably due to the stupid laws that don't allow non-cooking wines to be sold in supermarkets.

I have the same feeling when I hear people talk about the heat down south, though I tend to roll my eyes when people complain about getting snow. There aren't too many metro areas in the US that get more snow than us here in the Buffalo/Rochester/Syracuse area. Guess you tend to shrug off the extreme weather of your particular region.

Been spirited in here the last week.:)

How have Chief, sorry about the van, BB, hope Athena didn't hit you too hard, I've been a very busy bee the last couple of weeks. Don't get here as much as I used to.

BTW, when did we start naming winter storms?

It's something the weather channel decided to start this year. The local weatherman here ripped them pretty hard for doing so.

I think its kinda funny to name the storms. Everything else gets a name, why not the winter storms. And their names are better anyway.

Thanks Pup! All is pretty ok here. Delayed opening for schools but otherwise everything was clear by the time we had to leave.

That way they can use the same hype machine music that they do for Hurricanes!

Yeah, once again I have been banished to staying at home for Black Friday. Not too happy about it. Oh well online sales are fun too, although doubt I will be buying anything this year...
