Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

I probably shouldn't get started on school punishment. Too much crap on both sides to ever have a perfect solution. But... In this situation, here is what I see wrong.

1. Letting the child decide the punishment. Nope. Wrong.
2. Violating district rules. Sorry, but if they are there, they need to be followed. Not saying whether it is a good rule or not, but it was in effect at the time of the punishment, the administrator violated the rules, and he needs to be punished as well.
3. Parent second guessing. Your daughter made the choice, you approved it, if you didn't ask about force levels before approving it, your fault. If you think a spanking is a light tap on the behind, well... sorry. The point of corporal punishment is to discourage offenders from repeating the offense. Guarantee you the girl would think twice before commiting the same offense again... except, back to number one, you give her an out.

Agree on every single point.

I think my phone is ready for a new battery.

I've run extended almost exclusively since I bought the phone. The original battery hasn't been used but maybe a week in total. I'll have a decent backup when this one starts going downhill.

I don't know what to make of battery life ATM. Just got 4G at work. Spent all day with Wug's flashing back to stock so I could force the OTA to JB. Re-root my phone and am still at 67%.

Are you saying your phone was on more than usual because you were doing this? Was the phone connected to USB alot while going back to stock an re-rooting?

Yes, all of that. Too ma y changes in one day for me to gauge battery life ATM.

Wow, what to call Pup?

Boss? Big Dog? More Bite than Bark?

CONGRATULATIONS whatever your name is!

You know, I am increasingly convinced that more color changes have occurred here in the Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole than in the rest of the Forums combined. From blue to gold to green to red: we have seen it all and the promotions just keep coming!

It's a privilege to be among (a) good friends and (b) the greatest Android minds assembled anywhere online.

P.S. Hey Copacetic, how's that Popcorn kernel coming along? I spent an hour and a half in Nashville rush hour traffic yesterday and thought Ginny was going to burn herself up! Between GPS Navigation, Robin and texting, she was overheating badly and that was on Lean Kernel 430.

Congrats Pup! Happy for you and glad to have you as a moderator.
Hi Chief, Popcorn seems to be doing better in that I have not gotten any total restarts of the phone as I was with Lean. Yesterday, I was almost out of power at about 8 hours with not much use. However, I did have a live wallpaper, 3d effect, running. I have switched back to a static wallpaper today and will see if it goes any better. On Lean, if I was streaming xm and running navigation, even plugged into the charger, i was discharging faster than i was charging. :(

Yow! Well that's no good. Not for you, anyway. But then I can't really judge ANY kernel by what it does on YOUR phone, can I? I guess I'll have to see for myself. Lean isn't a bad kernel... but it showed its faults yesterday.

Woah, woah, woah congrats Pup - this is incredible. You are more than deserving of this position and for one would've nominated you 100x if they were asking for them. Just adds more color variations from the GNex thread - obviously the best thread ever on AF.

Good morning and happy Tuesday!
