Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Morning folks!
Anyone on CNA 3.8 noticing if you set transparency for the soft keys you get either phantom touches or random blinking on them? Seeing that on my Gnex.
 
Good Morning all! Have a midterm exam today, not too worried about it though. Will be working all weekend again. Hopefully will make it home tomorrow around 3:30, the Georgia-Florida game is the biggest game of the year in my house (I am a Gator fan as you know, my wife is a huge Bulldog fan). Should be fun, even though I have to sleep on the couch when FLA wins... ;)

Well, we knew it had to happen sooner or later... but wow what a ride it's been! Hard to believe that the epic pre-release thread and now the venerable Watering Hole will follow the Motorola Droid threads into the history books, but we all know they will :(

Let's make the most of it while we still can, folks. No doubt this time next year the vast majority of us will be in a NEW epic pre-release thread... and then the commensurate Watering Hole attached thereto. And we'll make new friends and say fond farewell to some old ones.

But just remember that tech geeks never fade into obsolescence - we just keep upgrading :D

Let's share the love while we can here, folks, looks like our Nexus days are numbered...

Chief, I'll be around till this time next year I'm sure. Hopefully discussing the Nexus 5 or whatever they name it and anticipating it's launch!
 
Morning Chief, Dread, Anti! I agree, sad to see the carriers starting to pull out from selling them, but we are far from RIP and I for one am still quite happy with our Nexie. Anti, good luck on the test today! Back on the coast, keeping an eye on Sandy, local forecast calling for rain all weekend and winds in the 30-40 range.

...and I'm sorry if I brought everyone with me into my Beloved Nexus' mid-life crisis. But let's face it: this time next year Key Lime Pie - or even Lemonade (or whatever) - will be coming out, along with a new slew of superphones. And most of us here will be staring at end of contract.

Naturally, my phone account is racking up the moolah, so that about this time next year I'll be able to plunk down full retail on one. I'll be DANGED if Verizon is going to seize my unlimited data because I have to subsidize a phone. They may kill it off entirely next year (by which time I hope & pray another 4G provider has put up a nearby tower)... but I'll give it up kicking and screaming.

I'm not trying to be nihilistic at all, I'm just making advance funeral arrangements for Ginny ;)
 
Good morning all - was out yesterday sick, feeling a bit better today.

Really hoping this storm misses us because if not its going to be horrible, absolutely horrible.

BTW I love how powerful our phones have become. I am SSH'd into my webserver installing SVN for some code repository I want to create. I was blown away besides the fact that my eyes hurt from looking at the small font.

I absolutely LOVE watching a college football fan base rally the troops around their team of choice. The #HailState and #WeBelieve movement going on the last couple of days with MSU has been possibly the coolest thing to ever happen at MSU. Attempting to knock off #1 Alabama and move to 8-0 on the season. People are putting up signs and such EVERYWHERE for the game this weekend. I don't know if this one was real or not, but someone posted a picture of the Wrigley Field sign with "We Believe" on it yesterday. A couple of fans went to Alabama's stadium and put a "#HailState We Believe 8-0" shirt on the statue of Bear Bryant. Now there are signs on the Today show and other news stations in NYC showing up this morning. Absolutely insane!

What money do I use for an N10? Do I use next year's full retail phone money that's saved up? Or put this on my Christmas list and let the Darling Bride "let" me buy it for myself for Christmas - with my own money? :p

Or do I hold out for a new laptop, that can do infinitely more?

I don't like the back, unless they were playing floor hockey with the thing it must really scratch easy.
 
If the rumors are true, this is going to be a highly uncharacteristic Nexus device. A charging port that isn't micro USB and a Exynos processor?
 
As if Robin and Speaktoit Assistant needs competition... but if you're really into Nuance's Dragon voice recognition, here's their foray into the Android assistant world:
