Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Leankernel has a v5.0 that works great on 4.2 roms.... I am using it on Jelly Belly v10.2 now.

Also, there is a new version of TWRP for 4.2 however, basically 4.2 added multiple user support so all files got moved one file folder deeper.. So it's sdcard/0/backups or whatever you are looking for. If you can update TWRP then your backups will be found, or just move the files back to just sdcard/backups... Or just point your recovery program to sdcard/0....
It worked fine for me. BUT and this is a big BUT... Be careful when you try to restore a 4.1 recovery over a 4.2 rom... Way different file systems can cause issue if it is not a very clean restore. Best way for me was to do a clean 4.2 install and then create a new backup from that point... As of now I don't plan to go back to a 4.1 rom....

Thanks, Ryan. I saw that PA recommended updating TWRP but I couldn't figure out how to do it within Goo. Know how?
Also, saw that 5.0 is the exp build. I'll give it a shot.

Hey dread... And to each using TWRP, I couldn't find the right one on goo.im so I just downloaded the file from their site... And adb push recovery from my pc... All done.
Actually that was the first terminal session that I used win8 for... And it worked perfectly!

Yes, to update twrp in goo, all you have to do is boot it up, give it root access, hit the options in the upper right, and hit Install OpenRecoveryScript. It will download it and auto flash it from there.

Perfect, doing that now. 2.3.1 is the latest? I believe I was on 2.2 previously.

I updated it to 2.3.2.1 using that method today. If there is a newer version out there, you'd have to manually flash it through the terminal. It worked just fine for me though, so you should be good.

jhawk, are you a Kansas fan? I lived in Lawrence for a couple years, love that town.

Indeed I am. I wanted to go there for college to get totally immersed in the whole basketball atmosphere, but it never came to be. Still a big time fan though oddly enough. Not a common team for a New Yorker to be a fan of, even if many would consider me to be a fake New Yorker since I've lived in Upstate/Western NY my whole life.

Yeah, upstate NY isn't really NY. ;)
I went to UNC for a semester before transferring to culinary school (my wife is a UNC grad). Never got to see a basketball game. She went to one where Michael Jordan was present!
But, if I have to pick a second fav, it'd be Kansas. There fans are fun and just as rabid as Tar Heels. :)

A co-worker of mine did their graduate work at UNC, and she carried so much shame to say that her oldest daughter did her undergraduate at Duke. It's always extra fun to tease her about it too:p. I had quite a predicament almost 10 years ago when Kansas lost to Syracuse in the national title game and got a lot of flack from people back then for rooting against the "Home" team.

Belated congrats Jmar! Hang in there.

jhawk, we have a really good friend who is a die hard Duke fan. Love watching basketball with her and talking trash. :)

It also involves a using the dev tool after all the hacking, so it's a complete warranty voiding, no going back. Unlike our nexus devices that we can relock and no one would ever know. If somehow the Nexus 4 makes it's way to Verizon, who would jump ship?
