Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Finally received my case for the N7 yesterday. They sent the wrong one though. There isn't that much of a difference between the one I ordered and the one they sent. Just below the camera, there shouldn't be any material there. It was a design change to make swiping down easier. The one I have it is difficult to do. The best chance of it working is to not have any apps or widgets at the top. I could easily just use a knife and remove the material. An email was sent and am waiting for a response. It came with a stylus also. I'm not sure that I'll use that?

If you mean me no longer being green, then it was about a week ago I stepped down from staff as real life stuff took over. Have a wedding to plan for and have been SUPER busy at work.
 
Stay off 5.2. That was an exp build aborted. 5.1 is the official release. It's smooth. Don't confuse 5.1 release with 5.1 exp. They're different. K?
 
I have been quite distracted, so forgive me Stigy. I knew SOMETHING was different, but you actually look good in gold too!

Blaming this one on Gulf War Syndrome :rolleyes:

EDIT: What happened to 5.2, Steven? I'm RUNNING it! :eek:
 
I spoke to Eagle, the developer, and he told me to totally forget 5.2. That was after I had it up and running! The 5.1 release supercedes all exp builds. Actually, I knew that was the plan from before 5.2 exp.

Where is he most active? I know they have their own boards but I see him on Rootzwiki and XDA?

Or is the IRC channel the best to use?

Honestly you may be better off restoring back to 5.0 and dirty flashing to 5.1 if 5.2 truly did have some problems with it.

I'd rather flash from a working base rather than from something that could be corrupt.
 
Your theory is compelling, Stigy, but the JBSourcery ROM zip includes a routine that wipes the /system partition before writing the actual ROM. Seems to me that any "bad" bits in there would be deleted anyway.

I guess we're about to find out, huh? If there are issues, I'll take your advice & nandroid back to 5.0 and then flash up :)

flashing to 5.1 full release is a flash up. flashing to 5.1 exp is a flash down. Confusing but true. :p

Just clean wipe and flash the 5.0 release.. that's the best way. :)
 
Too late, Steven. Dirty flashed 5.1 and everything seems to be smooth and in order. If son's Nexus hangs up, I'll do a full wipe... his seems to be the finicky one. Ginny just takes everything I throw at her :)
 
Glad it worked. I'll nver dirty flash, I'll restore via tibu, but even that will give me trouble sometimes.
 
5.1 is stable.. I'm not surprised. Personally, I flashed the new radios over 5.1 release and got all terrible boot loops. I re flashed 5.1 over the messed up 5.1 and that fixed everthing.

I'm horribly conflicted about the new radios. I get worse signal, but better battery life? Which do I prefer?
 
I'm on the new radios. They seem okay. 4.2.2 has the bt fix, right? If so, yes. It's there. Unless I'm confused.
 
Anyone seen OTD lately? I think the last I have seen her around these parts, or anywhere really, was way back when she was transforming folk into vamps.

EDIT: Looks like she has been MIA since then and is no longer a Moderator. I hope everything is ok in IRL for her.
