That a pretty tough nut to crack when the device doesn't say Nexus. Any update needs to be approved by the carriers and there are how many so far? And that is only in the US. Now, I could see the GSM updated pretty quickly (AT&T, Intenational) as that seems like the simplest and would be aided by the AT&T exclusive relationship. Beyond that, the different cdma flavors would need certification on each.

Also, they have been building this for a year, and 4.3 has only been out for a few weeks. I would rather they took their time and make sure the new code work right instead of shoehorning it on to have the latest and greatest but quite working the bestest.
 
The best I have seen is about 3-4 months after Google announces, the first phones that didn't release with it get it. It will be curious to see if it's quicker with the X.

Oh I agree. The GSM variants should get updates pretty quickly, but this really is a pretty stock version of Android. It SHOULD be out pretty quickly and I really hope they do put a priority on it because it WILL improve performance and battery by a small margin.

Yep, didn't have to do anything. It knew my N7 and S3 were tied to my account. Located them and both rang. :)
Not as rich as Cerberus, but it's something.
 
I'm moving beyond it, with my heavy self, but it's still a place where I can buy some trendy clothes that fit me well.
Target is actually doing well in this department. I've gotten plenty of Ts and shorts from there. :)

I get my golf shirts from Target - the breathable ones.

Normally like $50-65 at Golf Galaxy, etc are $25 at Target.
 
We have a Target a few blocks away from where we live but found the ones out in CA near LA were so much better for clothes. Ah well. First world problems. :rolleyes:
 
Well, I've been on Android 4.3 with ParanoidAndroid 3.94 as my daily driver for 4 hours now. Other than walking out of range of the phone, my Bluetooth headset hasn't dropped ONCE. Not ONCE.

Is it possible that Google finally got the Bluetooth binaries right? :eek:

And yes, I dirty flashed up from PA 3.69, a 4.2 ROM. And it worked just fine.
 
My Bluetooth on my SHINY 4.3 ROM is amazing - no dropouts from my Pebble and hopefully when Fitbit updates their app the BLE will work as intended as well.

Well, the article was chock full of correctly spelled words, I'll give it that.

The number of grotesque claims that were hilariously fictional but presented as facts left me wishing that I never lost those minutes of my life. Example, full multicore support was there for Gingerbread, not later as the article claims.

And plus one for the punctuation - the punctuation was excellent as well.

So, counting spelling and punctuation, it was among one of better Android articles I've read lately.

I figured as much, i was just being lazy. I will have to wait until i have more time. Thanks for the admonition...i am sure you saved me from myself. Since this is a rooted version, i assume that means you do not have to flash SU?
 
Thanks Chief, I do have your guide and do reference it. I did a full reset of my Nexie a couple of weeks ago, restoring through market and not using TIBU, it took a long time, but did help her get back in the swing. I am on The Sourcery Encore, but want to try 4.3 so I am looking at Paranoid, but need time and I have company now, so i wait. But thanks again for the link, your help is always appreciated. On a side note, i think i really like the Moto X.
I miss the stellar radio of Motorola as I am often in weak service areas and while my Nexie has actually done better over the last two years, i think it is more of a reflection of better tower service.
 
Morning folks! Think I forgot to mention I got my Chromecast in earlier this week. Looks like I got my order in just in time as rumors are flying that Amazon orders will be delayed for a long time now. Also got an e-mail that my Netflix code would be mailed to me 5 days after my Chromecast. So I should get it next week :)

I absolutely love this thing. It finally gives us a good option to rent movies. Since we cut the satellite out and went to antenna, we've relied on Netflix streaming...which doesn't usually have the latest and greatest in movies. We also have no Redbox or video rental place within 20 miles of us....well, if you don't count the Redbox knockoff in the BP gas staion by our house which contains scratched up DVDs... So this will give us the option to rent from the Play Store and stream directly on the TV in the living room. :) I should also be able to cast browser tabs and watch football games this fall on ESPN3. It's pretty fun just to be able to sit there and find a youtube video I want to show my wife and press a button and it's on the TV for both of our viewing pleasure. DEFINITELY worth the $35 even if it didn't come with the Netflix promotion.
