Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Still funny!

Moving on..

Steelers tomorrow AND I get my dog at 9am!

Still thinking of a name...Hondo, Niko, Max, Onyx.

I previously also had R2, Neo and Ringo

Got a pic? We need to find a suitable name, right?

Skip your list.
Forget your list.
Yoda it should be!
Try it. Say it. See how he'll respond :p

RIP Gnex - tried to replace the front glass today and seems I broke the LCD itself, ugh.

Going to use my Dad's old Bionic until I found a suitable replacement although I may buy a Gnex from eBay to hold me over until something else comes out.

Anyone selling (or know of someone) selling a Verizon GNex? :)

Nexus 4 or 5. I hear that the Nexus 5 is coming soon from Google's KitKat video.

Han,

If it was the dumbphone that was due for an upgrade, you will be fine.

But your post made it seem like the upgrade came from your unlimited line originally, but you transferred it to the dumbphone line. That won't work. You can never use the upgrade on the unlimited line, not directly, not by transferring it. It will kill off your unlimited data.

Yes, that is exactly what I did.

I transfered the upgrade from my unlimited data line to the dumb phone. The upgrade was originally on my unlimited data line.

I will probably end up canceling the pre-order and just paying full retail.

Huh.

I'm converting all 6 Star Wars Blu-rays into 1920 x 1080 mp4 format, the exact screen dimensions of the Note 3, using AnyDVD HD and DVD Catalyst. The first 3 went splendidly: and once I finished Episode 4, it only showed the top HALF of the movie! Same with Episode 5!

Trying something different with Episode 6, hope I can figure this out and get them converted before my Note 3 gets here :)

Anyway, we just got back from the Ultimate Oldies Show at our local Arts Center... and for local talent, they rocked the house! It was a great 2 hour show: not bad at all for $16 a ticket! It would have cost half again in Nashville, plus the gas to get there and back. They're doing Spamalot in November and I so look forward to that :D

Looks like Verizon may be supported on the Nexus 5 after all.

Think I'm still going with a G2.

What's this sorcery you speak of?!

Picked up the puppy today. His name is......NIKO!

He only threw up twice and it was right when I pulled into Petco :)
Good thing I had him on a towel!

A quick simplified why it may work.

Assuming the FCC report is correct, it will support CDMA on the proper frequencies, but not LTE (band 13 700MHz). Since activation is through LTE and SIM it won't work. Initially. But the device supports LTE band 4 1700 MHz, which Verizon will be adding by the end of this year in certain areas.

So in theory, it could work. In the original Airdroid article posted here, it even mentioned in Update 2 that it may work.

The problem is it may not work by release, and band 4 implementation coverage may be spotty. In other words, unless your area is covered, it might only be CDMA only, kinda like the early days when LTE was hardly available. Not worth the big maybes, IMHO.

Since Verizon owns the CDMA network, even when they activate the 1700 MHz LTE, the fact that it had a CDMA radio means it must be certified by Verizon in order to be activated on their network. Since that won't happen, the Nexus 5 will NOT be able to be used on Verizon unless Google makes a version specifically for them.

Oh boy, the radios in this Bionic are amazing -- the one thing it has over the GNex.

Good morning everyone! Happy Monday!
