Galaxy Note4

This is how my stock deodext rom looked a few minutes ago. Plain Jane :( Note the time the screen shot was taken and the Hot spot is visiblein the settings

This is how it looks flashing a 35mb .zip
Big improvement... Now, notice the time of the screen shot and no hot spot

https://www.pocket-lint.com/apps/news/google/135716-how-to-use-adoptable-storage-on-android-6-0-marshmallow But you will have to remember that once you've committed a card to it, it's then loaded with data, so use the biggest card you can for maximum benefitThat's all there is to it. We used a UHS-I card and we haven't noticed any performance difference, although there's the chance that reading and writing to the microSD card could be slower than the original internal storage.

And this two pointers are exactly what I'm not looking for at this time..interesting, though..even I have not seen that "formatting sd card as internal" option in my phone..it's not on it

Javi, then again..what I am after is the extra 1gig of memory RAM..that's that..

The virtual, I'm still trying to figure out how am I gonna do it..either with the mini tool partition..it with this Aparted Silk app I have somewhere..

Also I know how to work the Link2sdcard..but I do not know the other one you mentioned(what's the name)..any way

Javi, I have a real concern..look at the attachments..that's my simple sd card..my users apps are writing on my sd card(not the external memory card)..I never had that before in my stock rom..is this behavior normal..did you get that too?????

It wasn't on mine ether until I flashed the.zip. It appeared as an icon inthe top left corner of thevst satusebar. Swiped down and tapped it and formatting and internal, that whole screen is what pops up.. Those are old terminologys, now adays there call portable add nd adoptible storage.

It cool, im not trying to convince you to fo something you dont want to do. Im just experimenting to see if its even possible. If Im able to do this, it will not be in the same way as in the XDA thread. Most of the members participating have an unrooted device.
At this point, Im not following the rest of the path in that thread. At this point ther goal is different than mine. Its nothing I want. Forinstence, of you open your file manager you wont see an sd card because you formated the whole external sd as internal. NAAAAA!!!
Im perusing something totaly different, like comparing apples to Orges

In t he manner Im perusing you will see external sd the external sd because its one of the 3 partitions. Their formatting the whole card inone format and as one partition. Its just totaly different and so are the results.

Think of it this way 128Gb external sd.

First partition

64Gb format as Fat32 (viewed by your drvice as external storage.)

Second partition

63Gb format in f2fs (viewed as internal storage)

Third partition

1Gb vertual ram

Onc I find my 64Gb card I will transfer alo its data toy Laptop then attemp formatting it in three parttitions. If Im successful. Ill manage it with link2SD

Is because that system doesn't do the FAT..when you don't do the FAT..that's exactly what happens..your system can't read the FAT because it was left out

I am as bit rusty but I beleive the first partition needs to be formatted as Fat32 and what I remembered as f2fs may have indeed been ext2 or ext4 formatting of the 2nd partition. The third partition, I is not as easy for me to remember the manner I formatted it in. I might have done it in swap format but im just guessing

Just keep in mind formatting erases all data. One thing I know is its advised to keep 30% free space and unused as a whole but Im not sure how that relates to partitioning. Partition parts of 70% of the card or partition 100% and just keep 30% unued/free space available in each of the 3 partitions.

The swap is the amount of ram you are giving it..

The way you want to do it is you give to the fat about 90% of the whole card in other words you say you have a 164 gigs so you give to a fat 160 then you give another 3gigs to the extension the one you prefer either 2 3 4 extension the which is the applications and then you give to a swap just 1gig That’s your 164 right there ..

The third a I was using was App2Sd but it also has a kernal manager incorporated. Since, I prefer kernel Adiutor, having both caused conflicts.

Yes, I agree the Fat32 partition should be larger as I believe the TWRP backup are saved on this and not ext2 or ext4 partition.

Really, what happend? Mine work great. Ive had it for almost a year. I read a few bad review but took a chance on it. So far

I plan on partitioning my card in three. The first Fat32, the second ext2 and the 3rd vertual ram. Ill experiment with my old 64Gb card and if indeed it work as expected, I will then teformat it back to Fat32. When I partition my 128Gb card it will be Fat32 75Gbs, ext2 50Gb and 1 Gbs vertual ram. 2Gbs unused .
The second ext2 will act as internal storage, useful for putting app data on external sd while kepeping the app on internal.
