Galaxy S3 news and more !!

Question i have with aokp is do they support as many devices as cm? I know there is a version or two of cm8-10 for basically every android device and many ios and Windows phones. Does aokp support as many devices? I never looked into that as i been rocking with cm10 for awhile

There is no cm8.... :D

Sent from my typewriter.

states clearly that JB will be lauched and tested in poland before we have a chance so I don't think there would be a hold up due to updates and this article was written well over a month ago

I believe that CM8 is Honeycomb for tablets.

CM8 was going to be made but then Android 4.0 (CM9) came out and they skipped Android 3.0 (CM8) entirely. I believe the reason was due to the lack of adoption of Honeycomb, Android 4.0 was built for both phones and tablets (and everything in between) while 3.0 was just for tablets.

a bit of misinformation,

the lightray is $459 and its $55 for a single line and $50 for two or more lines.

they're field testing JB for the S3 in other countires, which is the reason poland got it first.

once the kinks are worked out everyone else will start getting it including us. we'll have JB working exactly the way it should with no hitches.

i've heard no complaints about the smoothness of the S3 running ICS.

that's only part of it the real reason was because google never released the source code for it because they didn't want developers to try and build it for smartphones I'm guessing and then brick them so honeycomb would only be released to the manufacturers that asked for it to build tablets and the cm team couldn't build on it therefore they skipped cm8

Andy Rubin originally announced Honeycomb as coming to phones in a videotaped interview with Walt Mossberg and there were development builds of it with screenshots posted on our forums. I imagine that both are available via web search.

The unwillingness to release source stories are 99% myth. The issues with the OS were pretty big and they bit off too much at once. ICS was the cure.

JellyBean is no doubt great, but like all new releases of Android, it's going to need some tuning and fixing. That jellybean is 4.1 and 4.2 tells you that.

Anyway, root long and prosper. :)
