Galaxy S3 Watering Hole

The software update was the 4.3 upgrade

now how do i stop my Flash from coming on everytime my phone rings, that light will blind on coming people :D

You got 4.3 then?

Android rule for most devices - whenever getting a major upgrade, backup your stuff, do a factory data reset and then restore the backup.

Helium Backup is good if you don't have a backup.

Things get tangled under the hood. They could fix most of it with about 4 additional command lines in the OTA installer without losing your data. I've complained to the makers about this and have been ignored.

Rooters know to clear cache and Dalvik whenever installing a rom.

If you're not rooted, and it's OK for your device (and it's OK for the SGS3) then the option becomes the reset.

Yeah, it will erase your internal storage. This is why you must make a backup. Early suggested Helium and that is a great app to do so. It is worth it if you want a less buggy experience.

If you need help I can assist you in your device's thread.

Cheers.

Edit: Morning everyone!

Yeah man,

Download the Helium app and take a look at what it can do. It allows for the backup to go to your SD Card or to a cloud service. Your choice. The paid version is more robust and offers some nice features. The developer is Koush of CyanogenMod fame and does some great work.

Hit me up if you need anything.

And if you create a thread in the Galaxy S3 forum we can share our back and forth with others who might be experiencing the same issues you are.
