Galaxy S3 Watering Hole

Because they built up this hype, knowing there are a lot of people out there who just have to have the next big thing, and are right now burning up the phones asking when their carrier will get it.
Simply put; money, money, money.
 
AJ - "some" S4 features - that doesnt take into account the hardware spec etc. If you want raw power, you'll want the S4 no matter what features port back to the S3.

I guess being one who doesn't do on line gaming or anything like it, it is just too much of a good thing. Heck, the dual core in mine now barely sees any playtime. It nice to know that it's there when I need it. Having all those cores would mean getting "miss you" cards from them.
 
Now, I wonder if these big brainy companies would ever think to incorporate something along the lines of this

When phones charging and display off (ie at night while you sleep) CPU power goes into use working on a "folding at home" module.

Anyone unfamiliar with folding at home, it's simply this.

Sign up, login, (usually on desktops/laptops) and when your pc is on but idle, 'folding at home' downloads a research module, solves a problem, and uploads it back to base. Collectively as modules get completed by thousands or millions of idle PC's at a time, research is sped up exponentially. Mainly or typically used in cancer research these days. Why do you think cancer treatment has evolved in leaps and bounds over the last decade.

So there, imo, ALL these phone manufacturers should find a way to utilise idle time for research, and how much kudos would go to the first to do so? /discuss

Such a great idea man. I have unlimited data (used 50Gb already this month) and id gladly donate some to a good cause (astronomy or a charity) :)
Google seem to think everyone has unlimited data anyway lol :)

If it was while you slept, you'd probably be on wifi anyway, so that would make the data use redundant for downloading / uploading the modules ;)
 
Afternoon, all :)

In samsungs defense, just you so you know I am not all out attacking them. I think they made the SIII a hard device to surpass. I know, I got a lot of room to talk since I just dumped mine for a Note 2 shortly after I got it.

The SIII was (is still!) A great device. Its hard to crank the volume up to 11 when the knob stops at 10. I think this was the case here. :)
 
Just checking in. Way past my bedtime. I'm exhausted, my garden to be planted and completely finished this weekend. Gotta love spring!
 
Too much college basketball on this weekend to do anything productive :playingball:
