40% of my battery to do nothing. What a fail. Can't download wakelock right now because I don't have enough battery. Screen was on when I pulled tablet out of bag. Was yesterday too. Not sure if button pressed when I put my bag on.

Right now, this nexus 7 is basically useless to me. :(

Guess I need to keep the thing off when not in use because airplane mode don't help.
Bro, something tells me that something is up with whatever your setup is. Android OS should never be at the top.

Whether you are bone stock or running a ROM you should be seeing this.

Do yourself a favor. Go download AOKP from the link I gave you yesterday. Here it is just in case:

AOKP

Then slap some Lean or Franco kernel on that baby.

Franco

Lean

I'm telling you, I rarely have any issues with that setup. And I'm no longer a crackflasher like I once was. I stick to AOKP and flash kernel update mostly.

Try and get Wakelock Detector, Better Battery Stats or atleast GSam on it mate to see in more detail whats using the OS. seems like a really bad partial or even full wakelock since the screen is coming on. Probably caused by a bad app so its maybe better to try n narrow it down before trying a new rom and putting the same apps on it

The Kernel is the brains of your phone. Some Kernels are smarter than others, offer cool features and better battery life.

Can you recommend me any S4 kernels mainly for better battery life and maybe smarter?

What is a kernel? I keep hearing this term but what does it actually do?

The way i think of it, its that thing that connects the rom to the phone. It does the dirty job of connecting the UI (what you see and touch) to the hardware (the sensors, microchips etc) :)
Hey X, whats the weather doin at ur side of the island mate? Mega mega hot here. We're hiding in the back room to get some shade :)

It's a nice comfortable 16c here mate, was down the pub earlier enjoying a few with my neighbour and it was a few degrees hotter. Sun's just getting low now.

Really need to get my planters sorted soon so I can plant out my babies, (chilli's) hopefully they will love it and thrive like they did last year :D.

So your phone is carrier unlocked, meaning you can put any SIM card in it. An unlocked bootloader is required to flash a custom kernel. Did you unlock the bootloader tasty?

Yep. All phones in Singapore are most likely unlocked because we don't have phones that are locked to one carrier :)
