Root Gauge Battery Mod

Ah the speedo battery, that zip should be flashable...

if you want to do it a different way then you would need to copy the framework-res.apk to your computer and open up the drawable hdpi folder, now take all the battery pngs from inside the speedo zip and paste them into the drawable hdpi folder for your framework and overwrite what was there. Then update the archive and put it back on your /system/framework...yes i realize this is over your head, point is the zip is flashable, if you are on a rom its not compatible with then its a drawn out process, though i dont know how incompatible it would be, it may change the clock also or something.

Make a nandroid back up and then flash it and see...

yeah it likely wont work at all on aosp due to flashing a different framework and jar files but you can test it on whatever sense roms you like. To get it on an aosp rom you'll have to do the png edit thing.

Ok im using CM7 stable..how would I go about getting this mod since it might only work for sense roms.

Yeah this is where you have to edit only the battery png files inside of your framework-res. You'll need 7zip for ease of use and a root explorer at the very least. Do you have those?

I have root explorer but not 7zip what is that?

7zip is the archive manager most use to edit apk and zip files. It has a nested type of view and updates the archive when you go up a folder which makes it handy. Im not a mac guy so...its not winzip lol

I suppose any archive manager will do just suggesting 7zip

For starters go in to system/framework and copy framework-res.apk to your sd card then to the mac. Look around in here with the archive manager. The battery pngs are in the folders system/framework/res/drawable-hdpi. These are the ones your gonna swap with the pngs from the speedo battery zip.

apologies if this is too much of a hijack, but I have a question that is along the same lines. I flashed the black icee theme over king's r3 and since then my battery indicator doesn't work the same. before the theme the percentage numbers inside the icon decreased progressively 99 98 97 etc, now they are only moving in steps 100 80 60 etc. I just pulled the framework-res.apk and opened it with 7zip, and I've found that the png files for each number are still there, so how did I get them to show up again, if possible? thanks
