Which is better the #1 or #2 kernel? And why or why not?

I flashed from GB .588 to GB .595 deodexed and still have the #1 Kernel. Not sure how to get the #2 Kernel or why I would need it?

An observation:

I am running Apex 2.0 with the #2 kernel. With this kernel, and Droid Overclock, I can use the interactive governor. With the #1 kernel, I did not have this option.

I flashed #2 with apex 2 but decided to go to 595 so back on #1 kernel. I'll try this to see what happens.
