Root GB OTA has started if you are rooted stock please read this

Sweet !! thanks ! :) so all i do is rename the zip PG05IMG and install right ? im also a noob at this haha i just dont want to brick my phone ... thanks for the help :)

What are you installing if it is a radio or recovery you flash it by renaming it, if it is a rom you install in recovery

I'm just trying to install the rooted version of this gb update so the over the air one won't brick my phone , but when I go to the forum to download it , it says radio not included ...

Ok cool , so does it matter witch one of the steps I do first ? And if you could would you be able to link me in the right direction of the radio ? Hopefully you dont say Omg this nub lol this is all new to me but o know once I get use to it I will be the one giving out some advice hehe .. thanks for the help very much appreciated :)

It is in the radios recoveries and hboot thread posted earlier I'm on my phone so lo links are kinda a PITA. I would flash the radio first but go ahead and download both

I'm not Scotty but revolutionary works on the GB OTA if he hasn't already I would suggest getting the upgrade before rooting to avoid any issues

as yeahha said, revolutionary works fine with 1.04.0000 and 1.05.0000 hboots, and if he wants to just run rooted stock software,i agree completely let it OTA first for least amount of headache.

He took the GB update and we rooted it at work today. :D

He was extremely pleased. Thanks guys.

OK my turn, not sure what I'm doing wrong
I'm rooted with the stock 2.2 from
D/l the new rom in the OP put it on SD card, wiped everything, installed etc
When I try and boot up, everything is forcing close????
Any ideas?

Did you check the md5sum before the flash?

Also you may need to wipe /system (I think I updated the OP but I am not checking right now) as well as factory reset and wiping both caches.

You can try doing the flash again if you are still getting force closes, also you could check with "fix permissions" in recovery to see if that helps

I followed the OP's instructions ( except for formating /system because i didn't see it in the menu ), and I installed my first rom ever. All went smooth till I restarted, and now I have a ton of force closed screens popping up. All have android or htc in the names. What did I do wrong??

in addition to wipe data/cache/dalvik format or wipe /system

also make sure you are not restoring system data with titanium backup(or similar)

I just found wipe system in mount/storage. I will wipe everything over and reflash now.

I did backup with titanium for the first time, but I couldnt even get past the force closes. It was literally every program on the phone it seemd. I just pulled the battery to stop it.

1 last question while this is reinstalling. Do I need to download and install a radio if I am using the method from the OP?

You may wish to upgrade, if you were on MR2 you should have adequate radios. Just to stress what scotty said above do not restore system data with TB

Format /system. That fixed my problem like yours.
