+1 for CM7. I'm flashing those nightlies like I'm getting paid to (yeah, I know there is little difference, but I am an habitual ROM flasher from back in my HTC Eris days.)

I'm hoping for some mods in addition to bug fixes, but i know that won't happen. I LOOOOVE the gingerblur that comes with my son's D3. Of course, his phone has a dual core processor that smokes my DX. :(

I hope it's true, but in mid-July Verizon told me it would be available at the end of July. Then another Verizon employee told me that the first lied because no one at Verizon ever knows when an update is coming.
Doesn't give me confidence.

i would love for moto to unlock the bootloaders, but when spiderpig becomes the national mascot and cows become carnivores that wont happen
its not moto's choice to lock the bootloader thats the carriers call. If it was moto's decision all motos would be locked wouldnt ya think?? ;)

So bitch at VZW about the locked bootloader ;)

You're right, it's not Motos choice to lock it, but it was their choice to encrypt it. That's where I have issues with Moto.

OK, the dreaded fear has happened, and all I can say is that the fix BETTER be soon. Tried calling 911 from my Droid X today when an employee cut his thumb pretty good on a bandsaw. Got the same reponse I have gotten before and others also have. You hit send, and the call doesn't go out at all, just get a "call ended" with 00:00 minutes. This NEVER happened with Froyo! Had to run to a landline phone about 40 yards away to place the call. Motorola and Verizon are facing a real liability issue here and they need to fix this bug quickly! After that incident was handled, tried calling home with the same response from my phone. Had to power off and back on in order to place my call to home. This has happened TOO MANY times to my phone since the update and needs to be fixed. And that doesn't consider all the other bugs I have discovered and put up with since the update.

That to me is unacceptable, you really need to able to use your phone to dial out for help in an emergency.

I had to call Verizon today to get a replacement phone. The Rep was troubleshooting my phone and had me give her the system number. I said its gingerbread. She said yes but there is an update being pushed right now. Take for what its worth.

It doesn't seem like VXW has very good internal communication, so who knows what the heck she was talking about.
