Root getting bored with our X

yes this is true, glad i have 2 lines and one is already ready for an upgrade lol, but i would rather have 2 amazing phones than just 1 lol

I want something new too.
but i dont wanna have to pay for it. lolz
I just got a $20 Kraken case for my X and a $40 extended batt today, i def have to keep it awhile now. haha

@Steven ...are you prepared to leave VZW over them not offering an unlocked phone? I know i wouldn't.

I really like the D3 especially since i need a global phone. But i want to let the Devs get some more time with it before i jump on it. I too don't have an upgrade till March however i would pay retail for the right device. I could then just give my DX to the fiance so she can finally ditch that Wackberry.

I don't know if I'd leave VZW, but if the alternative was too good to refuse I'd be gone in a heartbeat :D

I'm in a holding pattern, myself. I'm looking at new phones. The Bionic looks nice and all, but I've purchased my last phone with an encrypted bootloader, ever.

Steven your right i have purchased my last locked phone also, coming from the evo, lets say its so nice to have a unlocked bootloader cause there are so many combos you can run its not even funny

ok so i put Darkslide on there this evening...not really sure if i like it. It still has taken more Blur away than i wanted....so i'll probably jump back to stock/rooted tomorrow.

I am far from bored with my X. Since putting CM7 on it and working through the issues that it was having and trying out the fixes that other had and learning what all of the settings can do it has been a lot of fun. Also my phone is running great for what I need right now. Would love to still see an HDMI out fix, but that is not a deal breaker to me. Otherwise I have it running great.

Also looking for new themes and trying them out is a lot of fun.

Now in 6 months when some of the newer phones are out I may be tempted to use my upgrade (that I will have on 20 days) but right now I am still perfectly happy with my X.

Plus my son is getting the D3 this weekend so I will be able to follow the development on that for him as well.

Let me know how the D3 is. My wife may be interested in one.

Thanks.

Encrypted bootloader is something I'll keep in mind, but an active development team is MUCH more important IMO.

I'm VERY satisfied with my X, but afraid I may have to stick with it until it dies. My wife has serious health issues that may require selling her house and quitting her job this winter. That's going to be a hardship.

I've got two buddies at work, one with a Thunderbolt, the other on Sprint with an EVO, which he didn't want to buy, but there wasn't much else available. The Thunderbolt can be rooted (and I think CM7 is available), but not the EVO once you're on GB with the updated bootloader.

Apex seems stuck on RC2 forever or I would have jumped on that. Now the GB update seems eminent, which may screw up any new roms. Hopefully I can simply flash the new GB update since I'm not interested in anything that requires formatting data.

Yeah, I'm bored too. :D

dude colchiro im sorry to hear about your complications at home, with your wifes health, i hope that she gets better soon bud, good luck to you in your path

Thanks, but doubt that's going to happen. It's a slowly progressive thing (MS) so the legs, an arm, brain and vision are all headed south.

Install Liberty 0.9 if you dare. :)

Seriously though its good stuff.

Colchiro, you know how I am and this is one time I can't find anything funny or sarcastic to say. Good luck and hope your wife has at least a comfortable journey in life. It is all about quality, not quantity and all i can say is I hope the quality is top shelf for her.
