Getting my first tattoo

3 more days and I get my first tattoo. I've been thinking about it for years and finally decided on something I can be happy with. I

My addiction I will admit is getting tattoos , The pain for me is relaxing . As with most things seeing the finished product is the absolute best.

Do not understand why anyone would want a tattoo - I wouldn't wear the same pants I wore 5 years ago, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't want some dodgy picture I briefly thought was cool ;)

Tattoo's are not for everyone. My dad wont get one but he likes mine. He doesn't, like you don't, understand the relationship with the tattoo. You see it as some dodgy picture I see it as a beautiful, meaningful, peice of art that represents something very profound in my life.

i always wanted to get a tat. not really sure why i haven't yet. i think it might be the combo of the pain it will be and the money....LOL......but it is in my to do list at some point.

There is nothing quite like the fun of having some art on your body. It's a rush to have done and your first is kind of a life trophy. The second and third are just fun and you are getting off on the pain. The rest of them seem necessary because you have so much skin and so little ink. :)

I'm thinking of that guy who got a Romney tattoo on his face. :D

"Winning!"

seems like the biggest waste of money to me. "let me stamp myself with something for the rest of my life". its not practical, ethical or esthetical in any way.

I think tattoos on guys are hot!:) should be mandatory on all men! :p( not too many though) but to each there own!

And It's not that painful at all.. I dont understand when people say that.. But then again .. I only have one small one .. And women have a higher pain tolerance than men So...
You should be just fine:)
Anyway , I think it's awesome.. Good luck!

hmmmmmmmm...

Practicality has nothing to do with it..it's a tattoo!!..
ethical? um.. according to whom?
esthetical? um ..it's frickin hot

but ..to each their own! I spose..
for instance..I feel the same way about some people who wear yoga pants when they clearly shouldn't..:p

but..like I said..beauty is subjective
;)

And of cause you could not come up with anything better than contradicting yourself. It's not hot when you are 90. It's not hot when you are trying to do business with serious people.

If some of you knew what tattoo means in different cultures, maybe some thought twice. In many cultures it's considered a jail art. Some people are going to look at you and say "here comes an ex-con".

There are jobs you can not even apply to if you have tattoos. I've never meet a person with a tattoos and just because they have it, I thought higher of them, possibly lower, but never higher. Keep in mind, no tattoo is going to make you look more intelligent.

From a medical point of view: infection possibility, removal problems, allergic reactions, granulomas, scars growing beyond normal boundaries, mri complications.

Of cause there are advantages. Let's say if you are a hooker, you might attract more clients, or if you are a porn star, you'll get better sales. There are more examples, but I hope you got any idea.

according to Tattoo Statistics | Statistic Brain there are 17% of tattoo owners who have regrets of getting one. That's 7.5 million of people in US out of 45million of people who have at least one tattoo. We have to take into consideration that there are people who won't admit their failures.

Anyway, if you are a good looking fella you don't need tattoos. If you are not, get some better clothing and get some confidence.

So is it really practical? no, unless you are doing to in order to make some cash.
