Which will show up first?

A. Rebirth/rollout of Gingerbread for the Incredible...

B. iPhone 5...

I'm beginning to believe the latter...

You know, Alot of fine Dinc owners seemed to have gotten screwed by the OTA update. I figured this was a good thing for my old reliable, best phone I ever had, shit longest phone Ive had. Some of the responses I have gotten from Verizon were just simply canned blow off statements. Tell you the truth my phone is running pretty damn good. If someone convinces me its worth updating Ill probably do a a mnual update. I have found some leaked rumors of this phone herealded to be the best thing out yet, the Incredible HD. Anyone have any info on this device? If it comes to life, this device should throttle everything out there.

My wife got the OTA almost 2 weeks ago and of course ran into the usual issues of low space and applications on the SD card not working. Was able to fix most of those issues on my own thanks to this site. It also turns out she lost the ability to receive text messages. She could send them without any problem but no new messages or replies could come in.

Finally called Verizon late last week and spent a good hour on the phone with them working through some possible solutions with no positive outcome. They submitted a repair ticket for tech support to look into the problem. Called back 2 days later to ask for an update and they said because the issue was related to the OTA they would be sending her out an Inc 2 even though she was beyond her warranty window. Never asked for that as a solution but it is a positive outcome. I did mention to them a few times during the call that I was aware that the OTA sent out was causing some issues for other users out there to let them know that I was somewhat educated on the topic and was not clueless about using the phone.

I know you're all dying to know... No, no update here yet. Day 156, and no updates in sight. Food supply getting low, getting weaker and weaker... may have to look for alternate food -- *eyes NightAngel79... hmmm tasty*

2.3 has rendered my phone inoperable. I am receiving phone storage low errors and application errors. Voice recognition stopped working. Now all apps force close. Spoke to HTC, they were aware of the problem and are working on a patch, but there is no ETA. Verizon had the same story. Nice QA job HTC...

Sounds like you need a factory reset.

You work for Verizon customer support?

:D

Probably :D

His problems sound like a failed update. Some system files probably got corrupted in the install. If you're getting FC's it is definitely none of the known issues with the update (the HTC rep was probably lying when he/she said it was a known issue). And since nobody else has reported anything of that sort, it's almost certainly a problem with just your phone.

I asked HTC on facebook about the update... their response:
It's on track to be released this month. You should be receiving it soon. Thanks! :)

>facepalm<

People, the solution to all your problems / issues is to forget the OTA and take the plunge to rooting. Seriously, I was so fed up with all these issues, that I decided to find an alternative and found Business Gingersense 3.0

All my problems / issues are fixed. Everything works on my phone, plus I'm using Sense 3.0

Happy Birthday Anita Perez!!!

I think it is unfair to say the Rep was lying. It is simply more likely the Rep thought the problem was related to the known issues and thus would be fixed.

There was a couple times they simply tweeted back to do a factory reset, so I tweeted to people that they should google it themselves first. They told me I was wrong.

Fair enough, however I'm sure their escalation avoidance policy is to claim that every problem is known and being resolved. I'd say there is atleast a 50/50 chance that is whats going on here. "We know about the problem and are working on it" sounds far more comforting then "WAAAHHH!!! We've never heard of that?!?"

While I understand skepticism, this is not true. HTC only has known issues because they note new problems and when they have enough repitition of
problems they become known issues.

Unfortunately, reps don't have global knowledge of all reported issues. They also do not always get it right. If your issue sounds like a known one, they assume it IS.

Are you referring to the update to gb to fix the bugs? Or just the gb update...because I'm still waiting for gb...would be nice to have that before the bug fix update :)

Did I miss something? What is the reason to halt this update? The sd card issue? That's it?

i'm updated and my phone has been noticeably smoother and faster since. While it didn't fix any of my pet peeve issues (data/data partition chief among them)..I didn't expect it to. Really surprised they halted it.
