Root Gingerbread EVO on Boost Voicemail Notifier

It notifies me that I have voicemails like it should but if I try to make any call it FC on me, that includes calling my voice mail. Anytime I try to make a call it just FC.

Yes All of them, to to be specific of the FC message it says, "The process com.android.phone has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." FC

I'm doing the "Root Explorer" trick to push this Phone.apk onto the system and over right the old apk and deleted the vtt-sprint_v5_1_60.apk and the Phone.odex files with the app. All permissions are correct.

I had no luck with the adb steps.

will this Phone.apk work with a evo shift, if the shift is s-off?
welcome to the forums!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
sorry not sure which phone.apk you are talking about so i can't comment if it will work on your evo shift. maybe try posting in the evo shift forums and ask there.

You cannot push the phone.apk any other way other than adb. The person that provided this fix for me indicated there were problems replacing the phone.apk any other way. Re flash the rom and do the adb method you should be good to go.

I'm actually the person who created the patched Phone.apks that have been floating around to fix the voicemail notifications. I've made ones for the following phones/ROM versions:

Evo 3D
1.13.651.7

Evo 4G
3.70.651.1
4.24.651.1

Evo Shift
1.17.651.1
TMartinPPC_ShiftyGingerSense_v1.0

I don't have an Evo 4G or Shift anymore, so you're kinda out of luck unless your request is for a patch for an Evo 3D ROM. I usually hang out on HoFo, so hit me up on there.

Thanks, just confirming the instructions given above about using the SDK to replace the Phone.apk file worked fine on my rooted HTC EVO 4G on Boost Mobile running Fresh 4.3.3. One thing, I did not have a file called Phone.odex, so that stepped was skipped.

i tested this phone.apk and it works with mikg and Mik3d :)

ps..if you are installing the rom fresh you can just extract the rom and replace the phone.apk with this one.also you can remove phone.odex if it has one while your there to... the phone.apk is in system/app.them zip it backup and install...or can use the steps in the upper posting.

I dont know anything about your "flash" to boost but did you open the dialer and go to the menu that changes your mms@ settings to boostmobile?

I will get you the specific info but off the top of my head I cant think of it.
Ok found it check this and make sure its correct.

Now for mms dial ##3282#, and enter the SPC code. Tap on advanced and scroll down to you see the URL mms.sprintpcs.com. Change the URL to http://mm.myboostmobile.com.
Congrats you have now converted your Evo 4g to boost mobile.

Ive been doing that but to no avail... for some reason there is a different procedure when using boost with the energy rom. which rom do you have?

@ ed2000 I installed the energy rom but get a "not installed" error when trying to install the metro mms fix apl...
