he must be!!You're kidding right?

So here we are then..... August 10th.... *shakes head slowly*
This thread started on 30th June, yes it went a little off topic, but it's back again
Did I mention that I don't have the update yet?
I reckon Xmas![]()
and just for you geeks, you know it, deep down don't you.... 2.2 is better than 2.3 isn't it lol. You went through all that scaremongering, RUU'ing, ROM swapping rubbish and it wasn't worth it was it? C'mon admit it

The update is a case of running the RUU. A simple task that requires downloading it, and after installing HTC Sync on your computer, running the RUU .exe. No rooting is required. It an official HTC procedure.

Yes its dead simple and almost risk free (I say almost because theres always a chance the person doing it is an idiot).
I've been on 2.3 for months and months. Its so much more efficient than 2.2. Would never go back.
2.3.4+ encrypts passwords over wifi now too, although the Official rom users don't get this benefit![]()

Just to reassure Vicdude, the RUU is a one click operation, and as it's an official HTC tool it should be the one way of getting rid of orange crapware without voiding the warranty.
It's that or stick with what you have, whichever you prefer.

Simple.
It debrands your handset, so you can get rid of the Orange rubbish you evidently dislike.

Hi guys, wasn't specifically trolling but you've introduced me to something here that I thought wasn't possible. This whole RUU process. It's not rooting right?
If not, how come when people talk about bloatware, the auto response is to root the phone in order to get rid of it?
Is there a link somewhere that will talk me through this one click process utilising the HTC tool?
Cheers![]()
