Root Gingerbread IS ROOTED

P3Droid (P3Droid) on Twitter For those not in the know.

I've got popcorn going in the microwave for this show! This is better than "One life to live"

Edit: Sorry Steven. I was typing as you posted. But uh...this post is relevant because it directs people to P3droids twitter where news on when it will be released! yeah!

No need to apologize. This post is newsworthy. :) Heck, I'm the worst OT offender in on Android Forums. Just look at my post count! I know that. It's just that I think we can really help newbies better if they start their own threads (and we are newbie lovers.) :) Also, we really should keep this one of the topic of rooted GB.

Whoever sees the GB info thread first at MyDroidWorld, just start a new topic here, okay? As opposed to continuing this one. :)

Frankly, I had just reinstalled GB when the news came out, so I'm sbf'd back to 2.2.1 and back on to liberty. The rom is sweet. Amazing potential. Nice transitions, they also got rid of that stinky old pointer for a better one.

Carry on!

Edit: I'm on the East Coast. I'm gonna say gnite guys. Hopefully, we'll have an exploit in the am. :)

Can you imagine? Something like a liberty rom on GB. Be still my heart!

Liberty isn't gingerbread yet. Root hasn't even been released. :P

Shooting for a RC for Liberty on Wednesday. More details to come ;)

Final testing is being done as of 15 minutes ago. I think I'm going to wait around a little while and see what happens.

My eyes and fingers hurt from all the f5 pressing. I think I will watch some TV and pick this up in a few hours.

I assume RC is for liberty 1.75 which is a 2.3.340 rom. He said he might get it out by last friday but he didn't. He wasn't feeling well. Now, with the advent of GB, it seems that a new iteration of Liberty over froyo might be obsolete.

Jrummy tweeted that it's for 2.3.340. I don't think many people will be using it since it seems like most will be going to rooted GB.

He's shooting for Wednesday.

Hmm after all my trouble trying to sbf four times today, I'll wait for a way to root the gb I'm on now thank you very much.

So once we get root (I can't remember the timelines for when we got root for our X's originally)... will we be able to overclock/undervolt right off the bat? or did this update that kernel? I just want to freeze some bloat and overclock/undervolt.

You'll be able to freeze bloat right away, but whether we can underclock or overclock depends on whether the memory locations for the settings are the same. Different kernel, so my guess is no, until someone updates the UC/OC apps.

subscribed!! I have been totally stunned by the Gingerbread update. This is the first time it seems that Motorola did a better job at a rom than the rest of the community!

Even the new launcher can compete with Launcher Pro! (Finally...)

Only bad thing is that this happened after I got to work so I am having to download the rooted 2.3.3 in the TBH app over 3G. The good news is that it is moving SOOOOO much faster than it was with the original release the other night.

Sweet. Rooted version is mine. Will install at lunch and have my glorious, glorious Titanium Backup files back.
