The buttons in how the stock recovery works have changed for gingerbread

Hold Home and Power Button to get into stock recovery
when you get the triangle press both volume keys in
volume keys now work to scroll up and down
power button is select

this is what I have found. If anyone else figures anything else with it post it up and I will edit the OP to include them

Cant get into stock recovery. Get to the triangle but nothing works from there. I love the new GingerBlur but its getting to be a huge headache.

You have to push both volume keys at the same time to bring up the recovery options.

Once there you scroll up and down with the volume keys and the power button selects the option.

There is a patch if you downloaded the file early they missed something and had to create a patch for it!

Yep, was trying that. Turns out I had to hit search like normal. Seems that not all that loaded Gingerbread had the stock recovery change.

wtf? seriously? thats odd... question, when did you download the rooted gb file? or did you install the patch P3 put out?

See posts #4 and #5. Thanks.

post 4 has nothing to do with anything unless your telling me you installed the patch
the patch is to fix the early morning issue of having no stock recovery built into GB. for those that downloaded it first thing this morning (like me) when trying to go into recovery would throw you to the bootloader with an error code.

thats why I asked, did you install the patch or around what time did you download the rooted GB to try to figure out why there would be multiple stock recoveries going around. I havnt seen anyone else yet with a gingerbread recovery that works with the search button except for you. this is why im asking

edit: lol at the posting over eachother.

Well son of a....I wish this had been posted before I gave up on getting into stock recovery (after the patch) and decided to sbf. Oh well.

lol id have posted it sooner too except I spent my morning sbf'ing from the rooted gb also to get the one with a working recovery before he put out the patch. which between work and that took up most of my morning lol

ecf i got it this morning, how did you get out of bootloader? i dont wanna see if i have the problems unless its easy to fix :P

getting out of bootloader was either pressing the power button or pulling the battery... I think ive done it both ways but try the power button first (or any buttons really)

Nope, knew nothing about a patch. Just wanted me some rooted GingerBlur. Its all good.

through CWR like things normally would be installed

BTW I wanted to thank you for your service to and for your community. I know how dangerous fire fighting can be. My son is a fire fighter for Abingdon Volunteer Fire Company in Harford County. Had a scare this past Friday when he passed out during the fire after his equipment failed. He was treated at the emergency room for smoke inhalation and released. Be careful out there.

Ok, back to your regularly scheduled programming.

The one good thing than came out of this is that I finally got the computer at work to work with RSDlite so I was actually able to sbf here rather than waiting until I got home. :D

I have the complete opposite situation lol. I cant use RSD at home (I have NEVER been able to get it to work on win 7) so I normally have to do my SBFing at work lol

lol..that's too funny. I usually bring my laptop to work if I know I'm going to be doing any heavy "tinkering" with my phone.
