go check your local at&t store

AT&T Hey Kristie, sorry it took so long to get a response. We’ve reached out to the product manager to confirm the pricing. The latest pricing for the Captivate is $199 with 2 year agreement and smartphone data plan is required. The non-commitment pricing is $499.

So- thats that? -_-

Tom, I don't think you should waste your trip. Just called them and they don't know who you spoke to, but it's Sunday.

Hmm....strange. I guess the rep that told me Saturday was just wrong. He definitely said "See you tomorrow!" as I walked out the door. Oh well, just one more day is no big deal. I'm still gonna go in there tomorrow and plead with the guy if he's in there. It's basically on the way to a couple other errands I need to run anyway. But thanks for the tip.

LOL the miscommunication that goes on within AT&T (a communications company) is appaling.

I just want to know which one is right. $349 - I'm first one in line Sunday morning. $499 - See ya next time. I hope they clear this up soon so I know whether to waste my time trying to find one tomorrow.

I spoke to a rep today that seemed fairly knowledgeable about the new
phone process. She wanted my commission and took the moments needed
to actually be searching for something.

After looking, she confirmed her findings by talking to ther Manager.
Mgr stated they couldnt sell one before Sunday if they tried. The Skus
are time release for 12:01pm 7-18-10.

I *think* the difference is corp and franchise stores. I could be wrong, but
if the SKU isnt showing, then they cant sell the phone. I've only called a few
stores in the area, but they were all Corp AT&T stores and all had similar answers.

As with anything, especially AT&Fee, your mileage can and will vary.

I'm going to be pissed if it really is 499 -- if anything just because of the terrible way it was handled on fb (repeated "it's 349! it's 349!" and then suddenly "whoops actually now it's 499")

Called the one in my hometown. They said they had not recieved them, but would be available Sunday for $349 off contract.

So I called the one in Lawrenceville and they say I can go over and get it. I get there and they say that I can't until Sunday, I explain and they say they are terribly sorry and will hold one for me even if its against the rules.

I'm going to make a road trip tomorrow first thing in the morning to get it at the other place. Did anyone get there yet?

It's been really confirmed by AT&T that the price is now 499 off-contract. 2year contract price stays the same.

I wonder how this works legally... they advertised one price and selling it for another? I'm nervous about my chances of getting it for 350

If you're an AT&T customer, the general rule of thumb with them is
"whatever's worse for the customer".

Sometimes, they make a mistake and actually do something *for* their
customer-base, but I wouldnt hold my breath..

Well to be honest, they never really "advertised" the non-commitment price...the only official, press release statement that I stand behind is the $199 w/ 2 year contract & eligible data plan...available on Sunday, July 18.

I really don't know and I hope they did not change the price. The $349 price came off the facebook page about 15 minutes after they announced it on July 8. Their have been numerous inquires to verify the $349 off and confirmed. I guess will find out shortly.

Wait, what??? They're raising the upgrade price too? That has to be a store decision, not national. There's no way they're changing that price too...

Yeah that store has to be extra ******ed. The 2year contract price is still 199

Anyone have a link to AT&T facebook page where someone from att said it would be $350 without a contract so I can show these a**holes
