How much did you pay for it?Picked this baby up today.
I get the same annoyed response from salepeople. Like, no you can't spend your money with AT&T. We won't let you. How dare you.
The stock numbers sounds pathetic. 5-6 per store. Line up early and then be prepared to have a backup plan.
Lol can finaly
ly play with one but they wont sell it to me. Very nice phone here
AT&T really did a horrible job on putting this phone out.
I'm starting to think that since a new Android device comes out ever 3-6 weeks, that AT&T is using this release as a test. They're looking to see if the phone manufacturers can handle the advertising side of things so that they don't have to invest any money into hyping a phone release.
The day I came home with my Aria I saw Aria commercials on tv. I didn't take notice as to whom was paying for the commercial. It will be interesting to see if AT&T invests any money into advertisements once the phone is actually released.
What I'm saying is, they may be deliberately under-exposing the release to see how strong the Android draw is, and how strongly manufacturers will take on the hype control.
Funny you say this because last night on Comedy Central I saw a Samsung Galxy S commercial and it must have run 3 times within a half hour. I read on another thread of someone seeing the Galaxy S commercial on ESPN also. Not specific to any carrier just the Galaxy S lineup.
There isn't a phone for sale right now, other than the Nexus One, that has Flash so what's your point? My problem with this is, with speed that the Android phones are changing and upgrading, this phone is sweet, but not sweet enough to commit for another 2 years. I mean it doesn't even have flash. This phone will be super outdated in 6 months i feel.
I was out close to my AT&T store so I decided to run in and check on it. I wasn't planning on buying, I have $40 in Reward Zone points to use at Best Buy, but I figured I would check, hoping maybe they would have one, and if I mentioned I was going to Best Buy, they would give me some sort of discount to buy it there. Didn't really think it would work, and sure enough, they told me they had some, but they wouldn't have them out until tomorrow and they wouldn't even let me see a demo unit, the guy practically laughed at me when I asked.
I did ask about prices, and they checked, and according to them it would be $499 off contract, which was known, but they said for buying with a contract it would be $199 after a $100 mail in rebate, so $299 initially. I thought that was strange, because I hadn't heard that yet, it's always just been $199 with no rebate. I was going to ask for clarification, but they didn't seem to be all that interested in helping me anymore, since I wasn't buying a phone today, and since I'm not buying it there, I wasn't too worried about it.
Yup, that was me Saw it on E! and one of the big 3 networks last night, too. My wife is starting to get annoyed with "that's my new phone!" every time it comes on.
When I called in on Friday, they said "I think its $299 with a $100 rebate". I was shocked by that too. Interesting that when I talked to 2 sale reps online, they both said $349 w/o contract. Printed out the convo, and I'm taking it to AT&T tomorrow along with pictures of receipts and Facebook/Twitter announcements. I'm fighting hard for this $350 price
Just went to best buy and the guy told me it was $229 for upgrade. Has anyone else heard this? I thought best buy would have it for $199 after instant rebate.
