I literally JUST picked one up at the Brentwood store in St. Louis MO. The corporate email thing is true and if you encounter someone who says no sales until the 18th, you ask them to check with their manager about an email stating they are ok to sell. It worked for me.
Now, my beef is this, the corporate store charged me $499 + tax for it outright. Is this right!?

Quick update on availability in Indianapolis. Long story short, it's not. Checked at Lafayette and Georgetown, authorized retailer on Keystone near 72nd, Glendale, and Circle Center. I did get one reserved through Monday at Circle Center however.
Which Corp store in ATL did you confirm has them? I'm in ATL too looking for one that I can at least count on having them on Sunday morning.
Southside of Indianapolis also is holding off until July 18 on all 4 stores I called. Authorized and Corporate.

I bet if i told them that I'm going to T-mobile since it out already they'd do it, but i just don't feel like going those lengths to lazy today. Wish i knew people who worked in ATT.
Guess its not Atlanta really, but I am up here in Buford.

In my experience, nope. Although I was able to use the training demo.
That makes me worry ... AT&T might underestimate the turnout of this phone and stock just a few phones at each store and think it's "more than enough". Oh well ... I may just try to order online instead of running to every store in the town to find out they're out of stock.

Went to my local AT&T store about an hour ago, they still didn't even have official word on what the off contract pricing would be, let alone have them in stock to sell them. The guy I spoke to is actually a poke buddy of mine, I don't see why he would have had any reason to lie to me. I guess I'll have to wait till Sunday. 
By Sunday, I think there will be a correction to $500...

I think based on this thread more stores aren't selling it before the 18th than are. That would lead me to believe there will be stock if you show up at opening on Sunday. My worry is that a store gets the word and starts to sell early and causes a stock issue for the people who didn't check back in (in this case, on Saturday). So I have to call my stores on Saturday to double check they aren't selling early all of the sudden. Thanks AT&T. What about a launch date do you or don't you understand.
this is what i fear the most.... i do not want word to spread about the phone until i have my own ... stores only carrying around 5- 15 in stock.. doesn't seem like a good idea...
Called that one and they wouldn't pick up.
I just called the one down in Conyers and they said 500$ off contract! Those of you who got it $350 and early are some LUCKY bastards!

I don't know, I think earlier in this thread people where saying their stores had 15-20 in them..I don't think they will run out..and out of the threads here, not many are getting them only a few stores are selling and most are saying no the 18th..sure alot of people looking at this thread and trying and getting them and/or not getting them are NOT posting(you have to figure some are not), still I do not think att will run out. Not many people have upgrades and what not and not many people have just money they can throw around on every new phone that comes out..and look you have the right attitude, get it online, you will have it monday or tuesday. That's what I'm going to do if I goto the store and they don't have one to sell me

I agree this phone is beast but I dont think you have to worry about it selling out because of the iPhone. The majority of the world would much rather take an iPhone over an Android, especially over 1 that has had little to no commercial marketing. So at the same price point and service I don't see it selling like hotcakes. Don't get me wrong I have an iPhone 4 and will be trading it in for a Captivate on sunday, but i guarantee when I go, there will be a slew of people there asking for the iPhone and ignoring anything they are told about this new phone.
Woa, hold on, theres a store thats an hour and 30 minutes away from me (I'm on east side of ATL) that I called and they said 350 off contract and would sell!! I'm going to search for another store that maybe is a little closer first before I make a road trip. I will tell you guys when I do the road trip or decide another place before I reveal.
