Sometimes the area you live in is everything. I was on Sprint before I got the Droid on Verizon. When traveling, I just expected to be without a signal in many areas. I didn't get upset because it was expected. If I called my husband when he was in his office, I expected that he would have to call me back because he would see that he was getting a call from me but the signal was no good so he would call me back once he moved to an area where he had reception.
On my recent trip, there was an area south of Louisville all the way down to the Tennessee border where I had no signal on Verizon. If someone lives there, they would HATE the Droid and Verizon. Not worth it. The rest of the trip all the way through Tennessee, Mississippi, and Louisiana, the signal was outstanding!! Much better than my old Sprint phone. So you have to go with what works for you on the network that works in your area. Pleasant phoning!
ETA: And Alabama. I forgot about them. Alabama was good too!
I agree with you on Kentucky. I think it was about 10 miles south of Louisville on I-65 to Tennessee is not very good for Verizon. I tried to use the Droid as my GPS but had no 3g so that didn't work. Other than that it was great in Tennessee, Georgia, Florida and Alabama.
who needs a iphone post card? I have seen enough of them up my ying yang!lol'Good luck. Dont forget to send a postcard.![]()
and a mental asylum too!lol'Yah, there is also a map for that. At&t, thumbs down.

what did you say? btw, i am on at&t and can you hear me now? lol'Good luck. "Can you hear me now?"

agreed! he should be on steve job forum.iphone users are not, not going to get any sympathy here and most of the time iphone bashing! It's not so much the iphone hating trolls but you did post this on a Droid forum so what would you expect? Most Droid owners are VERY happy with their purchase. A very small percentage are not. You won't get much love posting hate on a Droid forum. You would have more success on an iphone forum. But like I said earlier, I feel your pain. It's not the phone's fault. There is a small area of the country where Verizon does not reach. I wouldn't like the droid if I lived in the boondocks either.

that's nothing, wait till they charge you for, as simple thing like replacing the battery, over a $100.00!!damn they made you pay for an update.

True! but some have more than the others like able to change the battery and multi-tasking to name a few.I love my Droid, others love their iPhones. It is nice to have choices.
Very true. Competition and choices are good for all of us.
I've read some posters who are concerned about phones coming out that might be better than the Droid. I certainly hope better phones come out! I want to see better Android, Apple, Rim and Palm phones. Keep raising the bar. Plus, the larger the Android base the better the apps.
IMO the Droid is the best phone currently out there, but no one can argue it can't be improved.
yeah, that, and because you won't be able to call on att's network.

Apple only really cares about the people that run out and buy the new stuff right away.
+1And you really had to make a thread for this?
I agree that the iPhone is a better phone, but I think the Nexus One will be a big step up for Android. It's really all about where you live and which service is better. I have 3g 100% of the time on Verizon whereas I would have it about 30% of the time for ATT. I think Apple makes great products and I am looking forward to their Tablet announcement later this month!
Did the OP buy his phone and have it activated in November during the holiday return policy? I'm curious cuz someone tried to return the eris he bought at the end of November, and they said he couldn't. I'm planning on returning my eris today and wanna know what to expect.
I could never go back to a phone without a customizeable desktops with shortcuts. Who wants to scroll though contacts and apps everytime you want to use one.
