Root GPS fails on Cyanogenmod 7.0.3.1!!

Ok I wiped both them and I wasnt able to find tye zip file. Where would it be cause when I dl it did through manager and asked me if I wanted it on the sd card and said yes of course

I went to download history and there it shows it to me but than when I click it ask.me to complete action usong Rom manager.
 
Ok I had to go into download and found now I finally got vvm working perfect but now gps still no lock which thats why I was asking wea her it would work with the first versoin. Any other suggestions. Just want my gps back lol.

Hey bolts where did you find this I want to ask them if the gps not working has something to do with the fact that I did the msl code before this fix. It also deleted my youtube app which I dont care just dl it again.

found it ova at xda..... your msl code should not effect it. but just for the hell of it... reboot your phone and the flash it again......see if that will work
 
this is for vvm Latest GAPPS with the VVM fix, for any ASOP rom 2.3.3.or 2.3.4 - xda-developers. i don't think this is the fix, however, for your gps issue. wierd not exactly sure what is going on. maybe you can post a question to the cm7 guys EVO gps fix - CyanogenMod Forum. not sure that anyone there can more then we could here but you never know.

one question though where are you trying to do the fix? have you tried where you can get a strong gps signal? maybe someplace other than your house may work.

good sugestion cause fixing gps the normal way should work not sure why u kant get it to take.

ya the gapps file i posted should fix gps it sure fixed mine ijust flashed gb r4 and then flashed both gapps zips and gps working fine and vvm

Yeah this really is very frustrating. I will go over there see what they say. When I googled this the other day I saw some one posted that the original post of the Gps fix was missing a step which was that once you have done the Msl code and rebooted back into sense to reboot back into recovery. What versions of CM7 do you have on your phones. And was it suppose to delete my youtube and car home app.

Your suppose to go back into mapps before shutting down and let it get a lock for 10 minutes.

I havent tried this and will but need that SD Card to save my nandroid of this CM7.

Now another question with CM7 that maybe you guys have seen. Ever since I saved the ext sd card on when I was going to do that nandroid every once in while when reboot Iam seeing the scrolling home screen gets real lag and jumpy and the screen becomes unreponsive. Has done it for two days and now I just rebooted because I was charging my phone it did it again.

Iam at home but I have never had a problem getting a signal in my house. Now Iam in an area with a lot of tall trees. But Like I said I have never had problem getting a signal in my house. The other night I went out side when I read a couple a pages back that someone was being a effected by their wifi router and to download GPS fix wich I did dl it and went out side for 20 minutes in area that there were no trees.
 
actually for me i went back to kings gb r3. i just like it (though at first i did not like green, but i'm used to it now) because it is very fast compared to cm7 in my opinion. and i think it is based on cm7.0.

i have both apps you are talking about. not sure why those are missing from yours though.

and i only have seen my launcher pro go buggy when i reboot my phone and things are loading and syncing and then it is laggy and even force closes. but, after that then it is really zippy.

I have noticed that with ADW or any launcher while it just booted it will do that. So I try to scroll let it get started and than it is as if the lag stays and never leaves. And about the apps they just now disapeared when I loaded this zip to fix the vvm and gps.

Just tried this with clear sky out side no locks. What is that CM7 does that even messed with the GPS in the first place.

No I havent yet. I read about the destroyer CM7 and finall decided it was the right time since I was waiting for a reall stable CM7. Maybe there is an Issue with this first one.
And Ocean any idea why this deleted the two apps.
 
yeah that is the golden question. i would like to know that as well. out of curiosity have you tried other cm7 based roms like kings gb r3 or r4 along with the gps fix?

How your battery life btw because I know the first 10 to 20 percent goes reall quick but I was glad to see that CM7 actually give you the real percentage of when you really reach 100 percent. Since the Led light turns green at 90. But I my bat life latley the first 10 to 20 is done in 7 to 15 minutes while on the web. For example today I used it for 2 hours the display was on for that long and got 6 hours of bat lige. While I in my sense rom was getting almost 12 full hours with having the screen on for 3 hours.
 
i get maybe two hrs of screen on if that. i mean i use my phone during my breaks and lunches when at work, but that is usually it. i use my computer when i get home. just keep in mind that the more you use it the more the battery goes down. i still get about 15-18hrs and sometimes up to 30 hrs or so with my tiamat sbc kernel depending on the amount of use. which ones have you tried?

You would have to have an sbc kernel to fix this

I havent tried any but Iam jusy going to get the Seido 2800 miliamp bat. So at least Iam in normal bat use.

So still trying to figure this gps issue.

Ocean any idea why the vvm zip would have deleted my you tube app.

Iam guessing there is no way to seperate the .apk of the car home app that came with the gapps pakage right because it also deleted that app.
 
the only thing that i can see is that the vvm gapps does not have the apk for car home and you tube. i compared it to other gapps files and i see car home but i do not see youtube. my suggestion is to first make a nandroid then restore and go to a nandroid(if you have one) that has both you tube and car home and backup with titanium backup. then restore your nandroid you just made and restore youtube and car home via tb.

Cant do that since I already installed this one. Now I do have the gapps on my other sd card but Iam thinking if I install that one it might erase the vvm so I will make life easy and just download youtube do you of any really good Car home apps.

Ocean I now have a problem with that situation with the gapps vvm that erased my youtube and car home app. Do you know if it a youtube and carhome app in it. Because just tried to dowblaod youtube from the market and when I opened it told me andriod problem opening it a force close. I also before dow laoding it tried to backup from Tb and it wasnt in the app list. So any idea on how to fix this because really sucks.
 
Not to sure about what you are talking about with the boxes.. but u need to flash the regular gapps file to get all your apps working and then flash the one I posted for u to get vvm working

I had flashed the regular gapps when I first installed Cm7 my youtube app was on second page of the desktop. And when I flashed the vvm the youtube app had a missing icon wheb I rebooted it was deleted from my system.

The boxes Iam talking about are the permission boxes that you see when your in root explorer and hokd down on ann file press permissions.
Did you go to the link I posted there is a zip to download. Which your suppose to dl and extract the gps file and replace with the one in system/lib/hv
So I did that but before replacing it I looked at the permissions of the oroginal gps file and gave the same pernissions to the new one I got fron the zip.

But Iam not understanding this problem Iam getting with the you tube app. I lf I reinstall the gapps would it re write over the first ones I installed. Dont want to be taking up space for nothing.
