GS3 Case discussion thread

This is case I ordered, Aluminum Metal Bumper Case cover for Samsung Galaxy S3 SIII i9300 - 4 Colors | eBay, in silver and here's what it looks like...

These are the cases I purchased:

Blue S-Line Soft TPU Gel Cover

Black S-Line Soft TPU Gel Cover

Hybrid Rubber Metal Bumper Case (07/07/2012: I have now gotten this case. It is painted plastic, not aluminum. It is also silicon, not TPU.)

Seeing as though they're coming from China (most likely on a slow boat), maybe they'll get here about the same time as my phone...

And I'm hoping at least ONE of them works well enough that I won't feel like getting yet another case.
 
There's a lot of great looking cases in this thread, but it's hard to tell how low-profile a case is from most sites. Does anyone already have their hands on an extremely low profile case that they can recommend? I've been looking at this one.

Yeah, I noticed that too.

I wanted belt loops, but didn't have any webbing around and was feeling to lazy to make fabric loops. So I settled for a small robin loop with a clip and long strap. I can clip it to a belt loop or wear it across my body on the strap. Took it with me on vacation, no GSIII yet but works well with my Inc2, and it was great. I put a little pocket in it so I could carry my licence and credit cards/cash as well. I think I'm gonna make a few more with different designs.

Me, my wife, my two kids, (13 and 16) all have TPU cases on our phones. Different brands of cases and none of use have the same phone. None of us have problems with the buttons on our phones with one minor exception. When I first put a TPU case on my Droid X I found a tip to put 2 or 3 very thin strips of tape inside of the button recesses on the case. It took maybe a couple of minutes and it's worked perfectly without ever having to give it another thought for almost 2 years now. None of the other cases we've used have required any modifications at all and no complaints. Believe me, my family doesn't shy away from complaining about their phones (:rolleyes:) but never about their TPU cases.

As I said, these cases are available all over Ebay in many different color combinations. I ordered a black on black one from an American company. But there are plenty from Hong Kong and other parts of China. Just search Ebay for cases for Galaxy S3 and you will get page after page after page of results. It's amazing the variety of cases available for this new phone already. If you don't just want a black on black case you can search around and find many other very bright color combinations by just scrolling and clicking. Have fun! :)

That one looks great. I've been looking for a very thin case that is see through. Where can that Samsung one be purchased? If you put the phone down upside down is there a lip that prevents the screen from touching the table?

Can anyone else suggest a slim, see through case?

How significant is the lip on the front to protect the face when setting/dropping it face-down? I really like that "feature" on my Seidio (for DInc) case, and I don't think I could get another case without it, even if it means I have to bulk up the case a bit. Thanks for the info and the great pics.
 
I don't think I like the top and bottom left unprotected on this one (see pics on post above). It seems particularly prone to hitting that area when dropped.

Quite the opposite actually, much better than glossy TPU (I ordered the Matte Black version) the only problem I could see with it is that it attracts dirt easier than glossy TPU (Not lint though).
 
Found an interesting website for all of you looking for cases, has a lot of different options. After seeing what the new Body Glove Tactic Case is going to look like I'm really tempted to get a white GS3 instead!

This is the product, however at the time of posting this, the mobilefun site seems to be down. It comes in a two pack, which is kind of silly.
