Root [GUIDE] Brick Recovery

On a Stock .tot flash.... Did anyone every trip a "FACTORY RESET" "2" screen before Mini OS boot?? All blue screen with red text?? Ive NEVER seen that before!!

I think maybe it was because im on a new pc. and i accidentally had ticked on UPGRADE DL and not BOARD DL.... Yep Mini OS booted!!

After i did this, everything works but now my hot spot feature under Wireless Networks is missing. Did i do something wrong? I tried using Wi-Fi Tether Router and it works but it's very slow.

No, you didn't do anything wrong. To get it back, download shortcut master and search the term chameleon. Launch the node menu and scroll down to Tethered Data. Set it to 2 for Wi-Fi tether, or 4 for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth tether.

http://androidforums.com/index.php?threads/967453/ is it possible to make something like this for our phone? So that you wouldn't need a computer to reflash stock
That's just a stock ROM, which we have several here. Only real difference is that that one flashes stock recovery and doesn't have root, which seems uncalled for. That will also only work if you can get to TWRP.

This guide is for when the phone won't boot and doesn't have TWRP, or it can't be accessed. If you can get to TWRP, you can just flash a stock ROM.

Doesn't that have all the partitions not only system? Since I think my radio partition is messed up (FM doesn't work anymore and when I flash the radio.zip thing I get an error). Also if we had that people wouldn't need a computer and drivers etc to get their warranty back.

That reflashes the partitions, but I don't know that it reformats them. What error are you getting?

You can just unroot and flash stock recovery to get back to 'warranty status'.

I detailed what the problem is and posted some logs here http://androidforums.com/index.php?threads/999444/
When you say unroot do you mean to disable superuser in the top of the supersu apps settings or do you mean the full unroot at the bottom?
Also how do you install the stock recovery?

I meant the full unroot. Since you're asking I'm assuming you didn't make a backup of your stock recovery?

Oh that. I did but I completely forgot about it. Just wondering what will happen if I flash it with twrp instead of flashify or something? Thanks
If you have a backup, just restore the backup.
Wait so even if the supersu app and stuff like that are still installed LG will be fine with it??
If you full unroot that won't be there. Obviously you'll want to uninstall any other root apps as well.

This guide is intended for recovering from a brick where you can't access recovery or boot the phone. If you can do either of these, you are not bricked and this guide is an extreme solution to your problem. Access to download mode and a computer is required.

Several of the files have an MD5 listed below them. You can use this to verify that the file downloaded correctly. Install this hash checker and compare the MD5 of your file to the one listed. (Android MD5 Checker)

Step 1 - Gather materials for zv3 downgrade
What you will need:
zv3 stock tot file - DL to computer
MD5 = 0D7AAAFB6742CEAB7BCAEECBAE3C1F39
LG Flash Tool 1.8, Megalock, and LS740 - DL to computer
MD5= C1825BA208611B23B9B0D4aBDD0C5731
LG Universal Drivers - DL to computer

Thanks to everyone else who contributed time and knowledge to getting this stuff working!

I am unable to download the following files. Keep getting "too many redirect" error. Are these files hosted on any other websites besides androidfilehost.com? Thank in advance.

Looks like it was a system issue:
SYSTEM NOTICE: We are working on the load balancer's. You may get a few 502 error pages but if you refresh they will go away. This will be fixed shortly.

Okay, so I got the files downloaded. Seems androidfilehost was migrating. Now I can't boot into download mode. It just keeps loop booting back into CWM Recovery v6.0.3.7 despite following the first post instructions. Anyone have any additional advice? Thank you.

Why do you even have CWM installed? You should be using TWRP.

Holding Vol+ while plugging in the USB with the phone off is the only way I know of to get the phone in download mode. There's probably an adb command you could try, but it likely won't work. I don't know if that CWM is part of your issue? What's wrong with your phone?
