Root [GUIDE] Change the CARRIER text

Is it a xml to change the notification dropdown .i found the one to remove the low battery to stop media player from working . I thought i would leave it like that not sure if phone power off and my external sd is mounted will it wipe it clean cause i would be very pizzzzzzzz . But is it a xml for dropdown notification and scrolling and which one is it .....
 
I was wondering was fuzzy's name hard coded or something on the lock screen, changed the eri many times and it's saved but still shows up fuzzy.
 
i remember changing the pull down carrier text did not change the lockscreen carrier text, or will only do so if you were using the stock lock screen (or the aosp, cant remember)

i would try my other guide on the ATR that shows how to change the lock screen text.

Changing the carrier text changes stock lock text. i delete my eri and it says metro pcs on my lock.

I didn't think anything showed up on the aosp lock screen?

How can I do this? I've been reading but I don't understand anything any of you are saying.

-Download and unzip the eri.zip.(http://dl.dropbox.com/u/51753039/eri.zip)
-Open the eri.xml with Notepad++ (Notepad++ Home)
-Ctrl + f your text here.
-Replace all three with your text. Make sure all three of you texts are EXACTLY the same and do not use any symbols.
-Save and Exit
-Push the eri.xml inside /data/
-Reboot and done.:cool:

Am I doing this from my phone or computer?
 
Always done it on the phone never tried it using computer after looking into things a while back everything said use computer but ROM tool box let me edit it in the phone so always done it that way
 
The OP implies that if as a result of a mod the carrier label/bar had been removed this mod wouldn't work, technically it does work, it simply doesn't show the change ;)

So IM using broken out ROM 1.1 and added the Eri.xml to the correct directory but maybe I'm missing something else to get it working on MtMich's ROM.
